I only once realised an answer I'd written had been merged to another post when I lost 5 points (because my answer got auto-unaccepted but also got an upvote) and investigated it. At the time I didn't even know questions could be merged. No idea if this has happened to any other of my posts!

Hmm, why did I get +1 rep when that answer, which I had downvoted some time ago, was deleted due to the question it was answering being deleted? I thought we only got rep back for downvotes when the post itself is directly deleted.

I thought we always get the point back when the post is deleted, regardless of how it is deleted
