Indeed. It may be spam. However, if it's deleted as spam, my guess is that it may make a second round trip back to undeletion.

I didn't find any evidence that the application does what they want in the manual...

Here's the discussion regarding it possible spam status.

The author never responded to my comment, and the linked page doesn't support the claim that it solves the problem being asked about, suggesting that if it's not spam then the question was misunderstood and it's an attempt to answer a different question than asked. I think it's justified to delete it as NAA, including with 20k delete votes, and if we do that, it probably won't come back. As terdon said (see above) the user really may not have been a spammer.

I don't think there's any evidence that it really answers the question though.

@Zanna I've commented about why I think it's NAA. If you can comment better, I can remove that, but otherwise I think it's satisfactory. If you agree it's NAA I suggest casting a delete vote instead of flagging as spam so it doesn't round-trip again and so there are no significant negative consequences to the author if they're not a spammer (which they may very well not be).

In my experience, even otherwise skilled users tend to assume, at the slightest provocation and without checking, that unlink just deletes symlinks and then find their real data are gone. It's important not to mislead people about this, and easy to do so. Can I more clearly convey that in a way that makes sense?

The either-or counterposition there actually makes the answer wrong (one is not either deleting or removing a hard link). But I think a better comment (or edit?) would mitigate the problem.
