Sometimes it is difficult to determine if content was AI generated, In that case, I look at a AI detector to see if I am on the right track or not before I report it here.

My only other option (Which I have not done yet) is to flag the Q/A.

Is there a better approach that I should be taking?

@stumblebee The current detection of AI depends on a set of heuristics which are only disclosed to elected Mods and some others who have a significant interest and contribution to AU detection. The reason for this is that if these heuristics were made completely public circumvention of AI rules and detection would become much easier.
This puts 'curators' in a difficult space. My best advice is that if you see a question or answer that looks like it is AI generated flag it for Mod attention.
Not great from a curator's point of view. Perhaps @NotTheDr01ds might want to comment here?
@guiverc I hope I did not rub you up the wrong way with some comment pruning and my own comments here: askubuntu.com/q/1526275/57576
I perhaps did not make it clear that it is certainly legitimate to question a possible 'homework' answer as you did. And I certainly acknowledge that the original formatting was pretty bad.
In the end it looks like a reasonable question with some good answers. I will add the OP's comments on their need for an answer to the question.
If you are happy I will then clear away all of the comments except for the Perl comment from the main question.
So hopefull we are good :)

@andrew.46 Reasonably so!

@mpboden I did not mean to misdirect you in any way. This is what @andrew.46 recommends. My apologies.

Nope... I comment as I see it, which sure doesn't mean I'm right. You'll be doing the same, and here I'm glad it's not me having to make decisions (I can just walk away :)

David pinged about a deleted comment, and I almost replied something generic in that mods have to help site run as best as it can & that may mean deleting comments etc.. but decided not to anyway. There are benefits when you're not the one wearing a 'boss hat' (mod hat?).

You do as you see fit, and thanks @andrew.46

@guiverc 😂
@guiverc Not always an easy job I confess but I am still enjoying it :)
:)
fyi: by 'here' I meant AU , not that particular post
@Natty report askubuntu.com/a/1526393 I reported it for being a duplicate answer.

@stumblebee No misdirection at all. I was just trying to bring some attention to the post. It came across as an AI answer. But I see now that I should probably just flag it as needing moderator attention and let them take care of it. :)
