@AmitSaxena You said you have many gay and lesbian friends. And you are asking us to to grow up. Well, being broad and growing up "materialistically or by desires" is of no use. See, how people are behaving on pretext of being "rational and broad". Some couples are doing sex before marriage. Is this the broadness and rationality they want? Sex is becoming a basic commodity. If so, what's difference between Human and Animal? They are not following Sastras in this.
@AmitSaxena Well. I do believe manusmriti was corrupted by degrading low "Jati people and women". So, i personally don't believe this except it has some logic. We don't find exact words of Manu now. It's still not clear not to me "What is Vishnu and Rudra are made of"?

@AmitSaxena I follow Shiava Philosophy where everything can be viewed as union of Male and female. All females are aspects of Supreme Prakriti Adi Shakti and All Purushas are amsas of Supreme Purusha Shiva. Similarly, Soul is Purusha and insentient matter or prakriti is feminine. So, i believe homosexuality as meaningless and mere disorder. If you give me any authentic and proper sources of Sanatana Dharma with proper interpretations supporting it and then I have no problem with homosexuality.

@Tezz The Manu Smriti was written in the Swayambhuva Manvantara by Swayambhuva Manu.
@Tezz I don't think the Manu Smriti we have has been corrupted, but in any case this a subject where the other Dharma Shastras are in agreement.

@Tezz I think how it works is that in every age, Trikalajnani rishis impart the same knowledge and texts to new disciples.
@TheDestroyer I simply disagree with you about the state of the Manu Smriti, but in any case, on this subject the other Dharma Shastras agree with the Manu Smriti.
@Tezz And yeah, it's a good question where Vaivasvata Manu is right now. He was originally the first king of Ayodhya, and then once he established the solar dynasty in Ayodhya he went to Ramyaka Varsha, which is one of the other Varshas of Jambudvipa. According to the Puranas he remains in Ramyaka Varsha "to this day", but of course "this day" means 5000 years ago :-). In any case, Hindu geography is complicated, so it's not clear to me where exactly Ramyaka Varsha is.
@Tezz People have a lot of different views on Hindu geography. ISKCON believes that Bharatavarsha refers to the entire Earth, Jambudvipa refers to something bigger than the Earth, Bhumi refers to something even bigger than that. Others think Jambudvipa is the Earth and that the other Dvipas refer to places beyond the Earth. But most Hindus, including myself, believe that the seven Dvipas are the seven continents, so Jambudvipa is simply the continent that India is located in.
@Tezz That's why in Hindu temples in America, we say "Krauncha Dvipe Aindra Kande Merokr Paschime Parsve" in the Sankalpam, as opposed to India where people say "Jambudvipe Bharatavarshe Bharata Kande Merokr Dakshine Parsve."
@Tezz So in my view Ramyaka Varsha is simply some other part of the continent that India is part of, for instance Kazakhistan or Mongolia. Now it's possible that Vaivasvata Manu is still there, perhaps making himself invisible or just blending in pretending to be a regular guy. Or like the rishis he could be staying somewhere deep in the Himalayas for the duration of the Kali Yuga. Or he could have even left the Earth to visit his father Surya.
@Tezz By the way, the one challenge to the theory that the seven Dvipas are on Earth is that according to Hindu scripture, out of the seven Dvipas, Shwetadvipa is the abode of Vyuha Vasudeva, the well-known four-armed form of Vishnu who sleeps on a serpent bed. (As opposed to the supreme Para Vasudeva, the four-armed form of Vishnu who sits on a serpent couch in Paramapadam.) So that would mean that Vishnu lives somewhere on Earth!
