@KeshavSrinivasan @TheDestroyer I don't see anything in that verse to intrepret as 20th Manvantara.. what I think is seeing the word "Dhanvantara(i)" which translator hallucinated and saw it as "Manvantara"..ЁЯШАЁЯША

2:45 AM

@KeshavSrinivasan May interpretation of Bhagavad Gita Verse 13.23 by Sri Ramanujacharya help in understanding Do Sri Vaishnavas believe Vishnu is the direct or indirect sustainer of the body? ?

1 hour later…
5:59 AM
@Pandya Ramanujacharya interprets the verse as referring to the Jivatma: bhagavad-gita.us/bhagavad-gita-13-23
@Pandya So that wouldn't address the issue of whether Paramatma sustains the body both directly and indirectly or only indirectly.

BTW, see my question here about "Telugu"
2
Q: Wherein Aithreya Brahmana of Rig Veda has the word "Telugu"?

The DestroyerThe Etymology of Telugu is believed to be derived from word "TRILINGA" or Trilinga Kshetras. Those three Shiva Temples are Kaleswaram, Bhimeswarama and Srisailam. With time Trilinga became Tenugu and Tenugu became Telugu. These three Shiva Temples are present in three regions (Kosta Andhra, Te...

@TheDestroyer - ohh , grt. , we can compile all such ancient names from puranas also :0

@TheDestroyer @TheDestroyer I think the word telugu is not mentioned but the word andhra is mentioned.

@SreeCharan Yeah. Andhra is mentioned. But wiki says even telugu is mentioned. Will see for some more days.

@SreeCharan By the way, How about providing some information at your profile about-me?

@SwiftPushkar I think Maharastra means great state or country. But not sure of Puranic name.

@TheDestroyer - yes ,in vaman purana the word Maharastra is there , i was surprise to see that word ,

@SreeCharan This answer says Viswamitra cursed his sons and Andhra is mentioned in Aithreya Brahmana.

A: What Scriptures other than Ramayana describe Vishwamitra cursing his sons?

Triyugi Narayan ManiAitareya Brahmana (7.13-18) describe the incident of Sage Vishwamitra cursing his sons. The story goes as follows: Once upon a time there was a Brahmana named Ajigarta who had given his son Sunahsepa for sacrifice to king Harishchandra. At the time of sacrifice Sunahsepa praised gods including P...

5:06 PM
@SwiftPushkar Wow! It has same names in Sanskrit.

@TheDestroyer - may be interpolation & Andhra also :)

@SwiftPushkar May not be. We need to know how old are words "Kerala" and "Maharastra".
@SwiftPushkar Andhra is mentioned as same name in Bhagavatam and Aithreya Brahmana. Andhra retained its same name.

@TheDestroyer -- yes , we will find abt that , but i think Maharastra is quite new word , at least in this form , the similar name might exist but differently in ancient time
