Q: Breaking Wudu during Jumuah

What should I do if I break wudhu (e.g. by farting) during Jumuah? I have a farting problem, I can hold it for some time but if the Quran recitation is long then theres a huge chance that someday I'll fart during some congregation prayer. I don't think the 'only one wudu per prayer' applies to me...

In the past, I had started seeing low quality posts, but now I am seeing the kind of questions that are asked to "scholars, i.e "Should I make salat?" what color should my floor be?" "If I break wudu' do I have to make it?"etc.

which are quite ridiculous (in my opinion)

and I am seeing these types of questions appearing here

the problem isn't the comment-answers per se; they're just a symptom.

the problem, as i see it, is the general "all answers must be referenced" attitude.

answers which aren't necessarily bad.

comment-answers fall outside of the general voting mechanic; they can't be downvoted, don't get sorted, and the poster doesn't get rep. not good.

but if they post it as an answer, they're liable to get downvotes just because it's unreferenced. no matter how good it is.

and i don't think that's really what we want in a site.

it's not like we want just anyone to post unreferenced answers.

but "is referenced" isn't as good an indicator of quality as many people seem to think.

and i'm willing to say that quoting references can make an answer less useful, if only because it's longer and harder to read.

our visits are going up every day, but we still have very few people earning reputation.

there's a very strong divide between "people who ask questions" and "people who are willing to answer"

we, as a community, have a lot of knowledge to share between us; but if it's not being posted as answers, it's going to waste.

there's not a lot of people who just happen to know chapter and verse of everything, but they still know enough to answer questions.

@goldPseudo perhaps we can have people in chat, for those people who want to know verse and so on, they just have to ask and if one knows they give it

and a lot of times, i suspect the questioner doesn't really care about the references; they just want an answer.

so waiting for a referenced answer just means those questions don't get answered quickly. so the questioner goes somewhere else.

some questions explicitly ask for references; those ones obviously would need a referenced answer, so waiting is important.

obviously, the more knowledgeable people who are willing to spend more time are can always do so, and will presumably be heavily upvoted as a result.

but we can't really divide "people who ask questions" and "people who have answers" so harshly; otherwise we'll have a community of people who ask questions and nobody to answer them.

and i feel that the scholars and knowledgeable people are unlikely to be attracted to a site where they have to do all the work.

@goldPseudo we can try to encourage people to research for answers, and then answer their own questions, although this is acceptable, it would seem many have a problem with this (on this site)

it would be a different case if we wanted to explicitly build a community of and for scholars and knowledgeable people only; a place where they could ask questions of each other, without being bombarded with low-quality questions which would just annoy them.

but i don't see this site turning into that; we want to be able to handle the beginner-level questions as well as the expert-level stuff.

the issue is, beginner-level questions can (theoretically) be answered by intermediate-level answers. we don't always need expert-level answers to beginner-level questions unless the questioner is explicitly seeking one.

as an example: my question on what the Hanafi position on Riba is. i don't really care about what page of which book of Hanafi Fiqh the policy is spelt out on, I just want to know if my understanding is correct. Presumably, anybody who has studied Hanafi fiqh could answer that, but if i'm stuck waiting on someone to actually have the reference handy, that just means I don't have an answer yet.
