@AlUmmatمجاهد Yes, I was thinking the same thing for a few days now..... seeing how people tends to follow a Madhab famatically.

@Imtiaz yeah, note I am not saying it is bad, but it can get bad

And I also wish there were no sects, no sunni/shia/kadianis. Only Muslims. Coz Islam has no differences from the root. (Qur'an and Sunnah)
Forgot to mention, Assalamu Alaikum. I hope everything is going okay with you.

@Imtiaz Wa alaykum salam :) and yes everything is good Alhamdulillah
@Imtiaz yeah me too, but this a fact, and there are many reasons, one is giving Da'wah to these sects and not Islam. Further more, it is as Allah said, each of these sects are happy with what they have

@AlUmmatمجاهد "Further more, it is as Allah said, each of these sects are happy with what they have" - I didn't quite understand that. Did Allah mention the sects anywhere?

See Surat Aroom Ayah 32
to see what I am talking about
let me try to get you a link to the verse
one moment
read Ayah 31 too
to get the context
here is the link to Ayah 31 if you wish to read it
Note Allah says Do not be like the Mushrikeen
polytheists

1:54 PM
Thank you. May Allah forgive us.

@Imtiaz Ameen
Also Note that the word شيعا does not refer to the Shia

What I understood(If I'm not wrong), Allah warned us not to devide into sects.

@Imtiaz Alhamdulillah, your understanding is correct, if you wish, this is only suggestion, you can consult a book of tafseer to further ones understanding on the Ayah
If you do, try Ibn Katheer and Atabari
:)

In-Shaa-Allah I'll try. I'm going to the mosque now, brother. To say Esha. I'll be back.
Assalamu Alaikum.

@Imtiaz Wa Alaikum salam

2:04 PM
it's not just following a madhhab that's problematic; it's any case where a scholar (or scholars in general) is overly esteemed.

@goldPseudo yeah
is this question too localized?
1
Q: Why is communism banned but capitalism not in muslim world?

DerfderI mean almost in all muslim world communism is banned, but capitalism is not. Why such inequality? Didn't Quran mention that the goal is to became a classless society where everybody is equal (advanced stages of communism) as mentioned in the work of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. Personally ...

i'm not sure what i think about that one yet.

ah ok
well I think it is too localized
because first off it says "in the muslim world"

yeah, we still attract a lot of "in the muslim world" questions.
just like we attract a lot of "what does Islam say about..." questions.

I am not familiar with, communism, Marxism, and capitalism
so I can't say more regarding the question

2:16 PM
Marxism/communism is a government system which (in theory) tries to keep the people as equal as possible.
Russia and China were both major Communist countries.

Marxism (and especially Leninism) were very much anti-religious; they consider religion to be nothing more than a tool used by those in power to control the populace.
(which, often times, it is.)
as a result, they are decidedly atheistic.
but not all communism is Marxist/Leninist.

I see
what about capitalism?

USA is capitalist.
it's typically used to mean "not Communist"; Marxism promotes public control of all goods, whereas Capitalism promotes private ownership.

interesting

2:21 PM
so, for example, if you have a farm in a Marxist state, the government decides who gets all the grain (you don't own it yourself, even if you grow it).
a Capitalist state, you can do with your own grain as you please; keep it, sell it, give it away, it's your grain, not the government's.

I see
so would asking about what Islam says about these forms of government be more on topic/constructive then the current question?

probably. it would be answerable, at least.
I've always seen Islam as a free-market capitalist system; except for Zakat, we're pretty much expected to do with our goods as we wish.
actually, looking at the question, i think we can take a firm stand on "In the muslim world" questions
If the question is about why a particular muslim country does such-and-such, that could work (depending). But there isn't really any "muslim world" government that decides anything.
i need to figure out a meta post on that.

@goldPseudo you mean they can be closed as too localized?
@goldPseudo ok

i would say non-constructive. too broad.
answer could be different based on the perspective of every different country.
actually.. NaRQ makes more sense.

2:35 PM
<closed> There are dozens of countries in the "muslim world", each with their own governments and their own decision-making processes; it's pretty much impossible to answer this question as phrased. — goldPseudo 57 secs ago

Any explanation why it is closed by only one person? I am asking you goldPseudo. — Derfder 3 mins ago
I think it is possible to answer and very easily. But I want to hear it from you my wise muslim brother goldPseudo. — Derfder 3 mins ago

2:48 PM
OK, so why for example in Iran communist are banned?
the same in Saudi Arabia "The party was always illegal and persecuted by the regime." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communist_Party_in_Saudi_Arabia
the same in Egypt: Under the regimes of Presidents Anwar Sadat and Hosni Mubarak the new Communist Party faced state repression and was barred from running in elections.

@Derfder this was a comment by Umar Bin (which I accidentally deleted):
"Whoever is a Communist is not a Muslim. Communism involves different kinds of blatant kufr, such as denying the existence of Allaah (may He be glorified and exalted), denying the existence of the unseen worlds, making a mockery of the religion of Allaah and looking down on it, and flouting its laws and morals. How can the Muslim whose religion is Islam follow an ideology which states that religion is the opium of the people? -islamqa.info/en/ref/3321 "

@derfder there's not really any reason to expect that three different countries to have the same reason for forbidding three different communist parties.
to my eye, that's about as absurd as asking "Why is eating food forbidden in religion?"

Q: Can I delay reciting the 3 quran verses until 20 minutes after Fajr? (Sunni view)

Umar bin I prefer to recite it while I'm walking, so I like to just delay it for about20 minutes instead of doing it straight away after fajr salah. Is this fine? 3 – Reciting “Qul huwa Allaahu ahad”, “Qul a’oodhu bi Rabb il-Falaq” and “Qul a’oodhu bi Rabb il-Naas” [i.e., the last three soor...

3:23 PM
So, why the ban communist parties? In Syria, the "demon" Asad allowed 2 communist parties. Is he a treat to muslims?

3:42 PM
i never met the guy. i don't know if i'd call him a treat or not.
but that's one out of four countries listed that obviously doesn't forbid Communism.

Exactly ;)
So why have e.g. Iran or SA banned communism?

did they?
or did they just ban those particular parties?
and aren't all political parties illegal in Saudi Arabia?

4:07 PM
Wow! I've made o the top this week. :D. Just received an email. I'm glad to be a part of the community,.

maasha'allah

:D

I repeat why have e.g. Iran or SA banned communism? You didn't answer my question. It's banned like: you can not register communist party.
Do you know any communist in Iran or other muslim country?

4:23 PM
@Derfder Personally? In Iran? Yes actually. And more that have left Iran over it. Of the regugees I know about half of them left for political issues, the other half religious. Being communist or being Christian are both strikes there. But in other Muslim countries, both are allowed. Your question is as much a political one as it is religious, and there is no definative answer because each country has their own reasons (which may or may not even relate to Islam).

@Imtiaz Alhamdulillah :)

Celeb, Are you in Iran right now?
are you using Tor or something llike that to access forbiden websites or everything is accessible from Iran
?

@Derfder No, I am in neighboring Turkey.

aha, ok

as far as I know, currently Iran forbids any parties from running if they are against the Islamic system in place; whether or not they're Communist is irrelevant.

4:32 PM
@Derfder Iran has an ever changing landscape of blocked sites, and some of the most interuptive methods for enacting it. However they are not alone, many countries in the Middle East and East bock political views they disagree with, including Turkey.

Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, is just non-partisan.
two completely different reasons, for two completely different countries.

In Turkey it's easy, basically European country ;) Communist available ;)

And at least in Turkey, the internet censorship this has almost nothing to do with Islam.
@Derfder Basically European country? Obviuosly you've never lived in both.

It's hard there?
in Turkey
I am from EE and I have lived in Spain too
E.g. in Czech Republic it's OK. The only thing you cannot touch is Holocaust, they have passed a law that you cannot doubt or suggest that there were less dead people or that Holocaust never happend ;). But in some part of Europe you can do it on the internet without any problems.

Ok so you've lived in Europe, including an ex-Soviet block country. That doesn't qualify you to label Turkey as "basically European". It's nothing of the sort.

4:39 PM
It's worse or better there?

@Derfder I doubt my idea of "better" and "worse" for any given issue are the same as yours, so I don't think it's productive for me to answer that.

OK, so I assume you are a muslim. If not I am sorry. My question is. Do you feel that Turkey is heading more to the secular society or more to the religious society. How do you see it in the future. Will the atheist/agnostics take over in the future or will the religion remain as strong as it is now. I know that it's more secular than e.g. Iran which is islamic republic and Turjey is Turkey is a secular constitutional republic. Thanks in advance for your opinion.

@Derfder Secular and religious aren't as clearly separable as you seem to imply. And Turkey is becoming more of both actually. It's polarizing. And labeling it as "more secular than Iran" is to skip over the vast differences between different flavors of Islam and the imbalance of political representation in each location.

5:10 PM
Hmm, why don't you think that Turkey is more secular than Iran? Iran is officialy islamic republic. Turkey is officialy democratic , secular constitutional republic.
Maybe you are frustrated from how it works in your country e.g. lack of jobs, corruprion etc. but the fact is Turkey is more secular country than Iran. The same analogy, but not using religion ;) could be made e.g. when comparing North Korea and China. Without beeing in North Korea you can right now say that in China you have more democracy than in North Korea.

5:34 PM
@Derfder I didn't say that. But you've obviously not followed recent Turkish politics either, because the things that defined what "secular" means and how it is enforced here have changed.
@Derfder Democracy !== Secular.
@Derfder Turkey has more jobs than many places in Europe. Why would I be frustrated by that? And if I was, why would I blame that on the government not being secular? The party that has been bringing religion back into politics has also made huge progress economically.

You are right that democracy is not equal to secular society. Do you think that their religious belief has helped them to be more successful as their predecessor who was more secular?

@Derfder Yes.

5:57 PM
Sholom

@DhoweedYaAgov Wa Alaikum

I'm pretty sure turkey was religious even 200years ago. They were Muslim who took control of Israel. And I'm pretty they weren't secular in Israel. Lest you want to say a secular Muslim will pray in the al Aqsa or dome of rock masjid
@alummat how's it going

@DhoweedYaAgov Isreal? have you forgotten about the Ottoman empire?
@DhoweedYaAgov going well is everything, Alhamdulillah :)

Octomom empire took over Israel that's what I'm saying
Ottomon
Sorry on phone

@DhoweedYaAgov is that the only part of the empire's territory?

6:04 PM
No but I would think that if you are going to be secular you woe do it outside Israel
Not to mention they forced a few towns in Israel to convert. If you were secular you wouldn't do that
Historically I think The Hittite empire was located in turkey

@DhoweedYaAgov interesting, is there any strong proof to support that they forced some to convert?

When ill get home ill post a link to where "supposed" Palestinians are really Jews who were converts by force and they still did jewish rituals n prayers according to jewish law

did you know that the empire took in the Jews from spain when the christians started to take back over?

But outside they were Muslim
Yes I know

@DhoweedYaAgov ok, I will be waiting

6:08 PM
They also went to Greece and Egypt and morocco
They went all over the place which tolerated Jews more than other countries.
Jews lived in Israel all the time but always moving around cuz if hate

ok, if you say so

How do you think "Palestinians" Happend? Countries took over and brought in settlers and some Jews who were forced to convert. That's what you hve as Palestinians not a separate nation. It's a mix of Arabs from arou drive Arab world with idigenius Jews
And intermarriage

Jews believe Adam was the Father of all Humans?

@DhoweedYaAgov then everyone is brothers and sisters, hence there is no point in saying there was a mix of this and that

6:17 PM
We Are already connected to odom harishon from noahH hanavi and the old way we are connected to noahH hanavi is from his 3 sons
Shem hHom and Yaphat
Arabs and Jews come from Shem
I just got home I'm going to make food ill be back in a few

@DhoweedYaAgov ok

@DhoweedYaAgov 200 years ago was there even was a Turkey and certainly became it became officially a secular republic. That statement only confuses the issue.
And don't even try to mix the politics of the Ottoman Empire with modern day Turkish ones. Same audience maybe. Same venue maybe. Different actors, different script, different set.
