For the finite-difference methods, I think that's more subtle. A finite difference method is a method to obtain approximate solutions of a (partial) differential equation. Finite differences is more broad, imo. However, the tag description of the latter is just that of the former. In that sense if the latter is only used according to it's tag description then the merge should happen in the other way. @quid So perhaps the post in the tag management thread about fubini might be marked resolved?

Proposal: Rename fubini to fubini-tonelli-theorems. Basically the same idea as the other well-received post suggesting changing collatz to collatz-conjecture. Fubini did a bunch of other stuff and it's best to name the tag after his work not him. Further, Tonelli's generalization is useful in mea...

I will also point out that Integrand is currently pingable in this room - in case discussion in chat is more suitable.

Although I am aware that you are relatively busy right now. (Probably many people working in academia have quite a lot to do, considering that the new academic year will be influenced by the pandemics.)

@quid I did not notice until now that the synonym suggestion still exists: math.stackexchange.com/tags/fubini-tonelli-theorems/synonyms

Is that intentional? (So that the plan is to let the users vote on the synonym, if they consider it useful?)

Now that I see that the proposed synonym is still among the pending synonyms, I am not sure to which exteent it is resolved.

Ok, so now it probably can be considered resolved. (Although not in the way proposed by Integrand, but at least there are no longer two separate tags.)

Will you edit the post on meta to indicate that the situation is resolved?

Find the sum of :- $2017(2017^{100}) + 2016(2017^{101} + 2017^{102} + ... + 2017^{2016})$ . The Question seems messy , but I hope it makes sense . Some more edits to this question will be appreciated. What I Tried :- I notice this is the same as :- $$2017(2017^{100}) + 2016(\sum_{n=101}^{2016} ...
