During the cleanup of partitions tag I stumbled upon this question: If a subset of a partially ordered set has exactly one minimal element, must that element be a smallest element? Neither of partition-related tags belongs there, right? Or did I miss some reason why the OP included the tag?
Similarly I have removed (partitions) and (equivalence-relations) from this one: Proving that R is a partial Order..

BTW I have bookmarked our recent conversation (me, Michael Greinecker, Asaf Karagila) - I think it contains some useful advice:

Retagging with newly created tag (how fast and other advice)

It seems to contain two separate topics: 1. How to make sure too many questions are not bumped at once? 2. How is adding newly created tags to old questions best handled?
Maybe one of them or both would also make a reasonable question on meta - where some users could provide additional suggestion. (If I do not forget, maybe I get back to this later. If I still think at that point that this is a reasonable meta question, I might ask this at some point in the future.)

@MartinSleziak maybe it was just that it was another keyword familiar to the user in that context. I agree it should be removed.

@MartinSleziak I did those three; create the new one, deleted the old one. If you are aware of any others please let me know.
While being on that page I approved a bunch of syns. In the not too distant future I hope to go through the entire list. Then I'll revisit the max-min thing, too.

Thanks for doing that! In case some migration comes, at least we know that top-level tags are compatible.
I have mentioned in MO editors' lounge that this has been dealt with.
Of course, I might have missed something, but I went through the whole list and only noticed these three tags.

You are welcome. Thanks for reminding me about it. The three syns together made for a grand total of four retags. In quantitative terms the use is likely limited. But I think it is still a good thing to have some clear way to make at lest one tag compatible. (Of course I am about maximally biased on the question whether it is a good idea...)
