I guess tag can be safely removed from here, right?

Q: Is it possible to have 3 real numbers that have both their sum and product equal to 1?

bikalpaI have to solve $ x+y+z=1$ and $xyz=1$ for a set of $(x, y, z)$. Are there any such real numbers? Edit : What if $x+y+z=xyz=r$, $r$ being an arbitrary real number. Will it still be possible to find real $x$, $y$, $z$?

Found through HNQ.
I am not sure about (which is the tag I've added) but seems to fit. And perhaps is also worth adding.

This post was bumped for entirely other reasons, but maybe it makes sense also to correct tagging. Originally it was tagged . Adding seems reasonable to me. I am less sure about other tags.

Q: Does the fact that every interval in $\mathbb{R}$ is connected implies that $\mathbb{R}$ is order-complete?

MarcusSuppose that every open interval in $\mathbb{R}$ is a connected set. Does this implies the least upper bound axiom? (i.e every non-empty subset of $\mathbb{R}$ which is bounded above has a least upper bound) Is this true? in such case, how would you prove this?
