Let me just say that I disagree with: "Ultimately synonyms should be either merged or canceled."
@quid Now I realize that I might have misunderstood what you meant in your message.

@user64742 I agree, and that is actually also the standard SE guideline. Ultimately synonyms should be either merged or canceled. But it can make sense to have an evaluation-period.
When you said that the tags should be eventually merged, did you mean that the two tags are merged and the synonym is still left in place or that they are merged and the synonym is removed?
I certainly have no objection to merging if the synonym is established enough so that it's rather unlikely that somebody might suggest removal of the synonym.

@MartinSleziak sorry for the late reply. I meant the former (at least for most cases) for the reasons you mentioned.

Ok, so it seems that we more-or-less agree - just I misunderstood what you meant.
Thanks for the response!

A: How to see questions time line?

Martin RAs of January 16, 2020, all questions and answers have a “timeline button” underneath the voting buttons. Clicking on the clock icon directly leads to the timeline for that question or answer: For more information, see the announcement Add a link to the timeline of a post on Meta Stack Exchange.

The corresponding tag-info probably deserves some update after this.

I have also edited the tag-excerpt and the tag-info for a bit. For example, I have added a screenshot from Martin R's posts and I have also removed link to this post: List of unlinked pages on Stack Exchange sites.

@MartinR or anybody else - if you have time and some ideas how the tag-info could be improved, feel free to edit it further.
