Q: Is it possible to simplify this expression involving modified Bessel functions of the first kind?

AnixxI need to simplify this expression: $$(w+1) I_2\left(2 \sqrt{w+1}\right)-w I_2\left(2 \sqrt{w}\right)$$ I think the context where it arose (Fourier transforms) is quite irrelevant because I am asking for just simplification. Wolfram Mathematica cannot simplify it further.

Q: Difference between Boolean formula and Boolean expression

Izar UrdinI have read in a book here something I think is wrong. It says that a boolean function $\phi:B^2\rightarrow B$ defined by a truth table where {0,1} and {0,0} returns {1}, cannot be expressed with a boolean expression of two variables $\phi(x,y)$. I don't know if I´m missunderstanding the notion o...

Q: Tag wiki edit: [algebra-precalculus] includes simplification.

ahornI recently asked this question, which I wanted to tag in such a way that would indicate it was a very basic question about simplifying an expression. Because of 6005's comment, I learnt about the algebra-precalculus tag. Can I edit this tag's wiki to indicate that the algebra-precalculus tag incl...

And two more queries that also show the user who added and removed the tag.

The synonym between and was mentioned (indirectly) in a recent post on meta: Unable to add “span” tag to (linear algebra) question.
Once upon a time, I argued for the tag should not be synonymized to (linear-algebra) because it also comes up in (functional-analysis). But I no longer hold that view; it turns out that users asking (functional-analysis) questions don't use this tag, whether or not their problem involves span. So, I support making it a synonym of (linear-algebra). — user147263 Jan 26 '15 at 20:36

Does it make sense that is a synonym of ? Seems like a decent enough tag to me. And the latter is gigantic that some structuring could be good.

Q: Unable to add "span" tag to (linear algebra) question

J. W. TannerI thought that "span" would be a good tag to add to this question on Mathematics Stack Exchange, but when I click on "Edit Tags", type "span", click on "span", and click on "Save Tag Edits", I don't see the "span" tag appearing, the way an additional tag usually has when I have added other tags t...
