In the mathematical field of differential geometry, a calibrated manifold is a Riemannian manifold (M,g) of dimension n equipped with a differential p-form φ (for some 0 ≤ p ≤ n) which is a calibration, meaning that: φ is closed: dφ = 0, where d is the exterior derivative for any x ∈ M and any oriented p-dimensional subspace ξ of TxM, φ|ξ = λ volξ with λ ≤ 1. Here volξ is the volume form of ξ with respect to g.Set Gx(φ) = { ξ as above : φ|ξ = volξ }. (In order for the theory to be nontrivial, we need Gx(φ) to be nonempty.) Let G(φ) be the union of Gx(φ) for x in M. The theory of calibrations...
@ArcticChar Possibly I would see something along these lines as an argument in favor of some specific tag: "the name of an object does not really work well in search, either because the same word is used in many different meanings or because the same objects have several different commonly used name".
I think that this was argument when tags such as or were created. (I.e., a tag for some specific object, in these cases specific topological spaces.)
This was also my argument in favor of a tag for . (Although in this case the decison was not to create the tag.)
Although I am not sure to which extent there difficulty with search for calibration. Probably combining with (differential-geometry) tag might make search easier: all posts, questions.
As I do not know enough about differential geometry, I'll definitely leave the decision to other. I wanted just point out this specific point - that a tag might be useful if search for the specific keyword does not work satisfactorily.

@MartinSleziak Personally I don't think the tag is necessary. This is a rather advanced, specialized concept (introduced only in 1982), people who look for these questions should have the ability to locate the question (by searching inside differetial-geometry, riemannian-geometry, minimal-surfaces....) . And that's only <10 questions as of now in MSE.
I am not sure if there is any harm though.
It seems that we have an expert. They are quite active recently.
