Q: Find conditions on $a, b, c$, and $d$ with $a\ne -1, 0, 1$ such that $d|(a^n+bn+c)$ for $n \ge 1$.

marty cohenThis is a generalization of Using induction, show that $4^n +15n - 1$ is divisible by $9$ for all $n \geq 1$ I want to find conditions on $a, b, c$, and $d$ with $a\ne -1, 0, 1$ such that $d|(a^n+bn+c)$ for $n \ge 1$. Here is my result: A sufficient condition is that $a+b+c \ne 0$ and all of ...

This is not the first time that generalization tag was created and not the first time by this user, either. The comment below is from August:
I have noticed this was second time you have created (generalization) tag. (And in the past this tag was created by other users and removed each time.) I think that probably it would be better to discuss the tag on meta first, since it is unclear whether or not this tag can be useful. (Relevant discussion on meta: Should every new tag be discussed on meta before creation?) After you see this comment, feel free to ping me here or in tagging chatroom - then I can remove it. — Martin Sleziak Aug 23 at 12:59
Some posts which used to have this tag: data.stackexchange.com/math/query/927958/…
I do not see the tag among deleted questions: data.stackexchange.com/math/query/883845/…
I'd guess that if a tag was created and removed repeatedly, that would be probably reason enough to discuss it on meta. (Four times just this year: math.stackexchange.com/posts/2713860/revisions math.stackexchange.com/posts/2790269/revisions math.stackexchange.com/posts/2891305/revisions math.stackexchange.com/posts/3000696/revisions )
I'm not really sure whether it's better to make a separate question or whether to use the tag-management thread.
