yeah, i generally agree about interstellar stuff. Too many unknowns and risks, even if we had the energy to push a package of say a few tons of AI and robots to half light speed or something.
interferometers? are you saying basically telescopes with lenses the size of the solar system?
i do respect the efforts of Icarus Interstellar to take steps to tackle some of the questions of how it could be done, and move in small steps towards it however far off it is. It is just another version of what we are trying to do. More disciplined and directed, even. Just, i think the focus is mistaken, if the goal is generally to direct people's interest and enthusiasm towards pursuing science and technology.

yes, in that direction
agree about projects. However, should be noticed such things do benefit from us higher capacities to do stuff in space. Same as stated goal is irrelevant in case moon/mars as long as the carrier is developed. once it's done, both goals will have a tool
