10:45 PM
@CAI I think you're the first to enter this room! You're very welcome :L

10:55 PM
2nd?

aha!
I feel bad setting up this room...it's like a dissident republic or somethin
i messaged the photography room about the arts and crafts stack proposal,...not sure where else i could share it...

CAI
Yeh so what's going on in here then?

haha not much I guess! It's likely to be frozen soon. I was thinking it would be a room where people could share their work and post feedback
or stuff they've come across. More illustration stuff rather than software related topics

CAI
I like that idea
Not that I've got much to share right now, I like it tho
How long till a room gets frozen?

I'm gunna post some outline sketches soon when they're done for a few illustrations im working on...they're all constructed from references and my head so im very doubtful about their proportions...
I'm not sure, do you know @JohnB

11:04 PM
uhhhh

we're chatting now so whatever timer is probably reset lol

something like 10 days of no messages
don't quote me on that

ah ok. i thought it was 4 for some reason. there is life in the old dog yet!

CAI
Ah there you go that's loads of time
Im sure you can keep her alive :)

I'll try!

cool
I came across this the other day...I'm hoping to incorporate it into my illustrations I'm doing..Maybe you'd be interested reddit.com/r/glitch_art/comments/1mdz36/…
Pixel sorting. You can probably find a better tutorial on youtube but it's much easier than it sounds

very cool

squidinkmagazine.tumblr.com/image/65490664688 If you guys are used to dev work, you might enjoy it. It seems to go well with landscape and urban photography

CAI
Yeh I like that, I'll take a look when I'm not on my phone

have you seen deep thought style art @johnp?
er, deep dream

11:13 PM
I don't think so...is this anything like the deep dream algorithm that was on google a while back

oh yes!
I can't remember exactly but isn't it a combination of animal imagery.>?

also the images in this album are impressively neat imgur.com/gallery/BAJ8j

oh wow
lol i notice everyone is sketching Trump lately on google plus :v I hope it's not out of idolation
that album is very impressive! it's interesting to see art and code converging...Makes me feel like I'll be unemployed for the rest of my life lol

heh, I never really followed presidential elections before 2008 (first one I could vote in), but I'm wondering if there was such strong cults of personalities before social media came in to play
obviously they did exist before it but it just seems to accelerated by it

11:19 PM
it's interesting alright, even with the marriage referendum here nobody anticipated the social media impact. It's what won it in the end I think
On the other hand with the internet it's so much easier for bigots to find other bigots :v

singlebigots.com?

haha - stops typing
nearly said something blasphemous!

:D

one forgets how public these chatrooms are
do you have any experience with film photography?
I'm thinking of trying it out as medium format is so affordable now...but a guy on the photography stack tells me film is very expensive...

I took a photography class in high school, but that was over 10 years ago now
we developed our own film and exposed our own photos and stuff
all knowledge on how to do all that is now forgotten of course :P

11:29 PM
that's a great experience though. We did a tiny bit in first year of uni. I remember I was the only student in the year to get a bad film roll! I had to shoot everything again. Only b&w but from what i read today the c45 process looks doable...develop in the bath i guess! Im just really hooked on medium format quality portraits...it would be a dream come true for 300 euro
vs 5000

yeah, just b&w for me too
I can still remember the sharp smell of those bath chemicals

lol
students kept getting locked in to the darkrooms overnight...it was awful

oh wow

i posted these earlier in case you missed em

that really sucks that you got a bad film roll :(

11:32 PM
yeah, at least im more open to trying out film again

that's really neat

i really like it, where i live is fairly dreary at times with very few landmarks...i think infrared would spice things up a little...unfortunately the aerochrome film is nearly gone...but i think lomography have made something similar. it would probably yield the same effect with a IR filter

I often think the same about the area I live in. "I should go out and try to take some photos! Hmm..of...trees and deer and birds again? Bah forget it"
I bet if we traded places for a week it'd be seen in a different light :P

haha
id say so. Ireland is like a bowl, the midlands are flat with very few mountains or anything

mmmmyeah I could see how that would get tired quickly :)

11:44 PM
probably why i spend more time on portraits :v

I think Ryan has the right idea, he's shared a few photos of festivals and public events he's taken

yeah and instagram is a surprisingly good way to share professional photos these days
the only thing about behance and flickr is that it feels a bit like a dog eat-dog platform? (or maybe it's just me :P)

I don't do any of it so I've got no clue. Wouldn't surprise me though

i dunno, everyone shares there work there but it's extremely competitive at the same time
