@iammilind ready
note: my 1st (speaking) language isn't English so it may take time for me to understand (or may occur some misunderstanding)

12:02 PM
By the way which Upanishads have you read? @iammilind

@Pandya, hi.
I have read only Gita for now and on small occasions Mahabharata in sacred-text.
BTW, just now I saw a comment from Swami Vishwananda, that certain scriptures suggests that all events are fixed.

Anyhow, let's quickly start with the concept.

@iammilind I recommend to read Mukhya Upanishads
Gita can be considered as just overview of it

I see. As of now, I find it difficult to absorb the whole Gita. :-)

the deep and clear knowledge can be get from Upanishads

@Pandya So shall we start? I will ask you few simple Qs, if you have a good thought processing on it, then it's easy to realize this simple concept.

12:16 PM
ok let's try

Can you make a wild guess, that how many years have passed before we are chatting here?

don't know may be 0

Why do you believe it to be 0? There are many years passed since you born and we are chatting now, isn't it. Many years have passed, before we born; i.e. Independence of India, Ashoka, Mahabharata, Ramayana ...

ok. then from where are you asking to calculate?

how much every you want. You may even go beyond big bang

12:25 PM
can I guess infinite (it seems your question suggest me to choose) ∞ ?

Yes, actually it's right. Shall we block the answer that "infinite" time has passed till now? (and also will pass afterwards)
If you get any doubt in this, then kindly let me know before we move further.

ok
btw, have you read my small try at that question?

Yes, I had read that. But that was based on only scriptures. I don't want to judge whether it was right or wrong.
But let's not get distracted by it for now. We can see to it later. Hope you are fine with that.

Fine. So now do you agree that, at a time only 1 event happens?
For example, we were born, then gradually we grew to a kid, then went to school, then we went to teens, then went to college and so on.

you can go ahead

So do you agree that, at a time only 1 event happens?
All events are not happening at the same time. It takes certain time to change.

12:31 PM
for only oneself?

For oneself or anyone. Say for example, we are in India at the same time some people will be sleeping USA. But for the whole universe, there is 1 second, which ticks.

ok
but I still can't understand limiting only 1 event

Ok,. let me give an example
A person's age is 50 years. In 50 years of life, he has lived 1 + 1 + 1 ... = 50 years. All the years and all the days and all the minutes in his life are happening 1 by 1. They are not happening in parallel.
So I am referring to sequential happening of events. Did you get it?

yes
you mean second sequential event can't happen before first right?

Exactly!

Fine. So let's say that man is of 50 years of age today. Which means, when he was born, the "event line" started with his birth and took 50 years to reach till today.

However, as we discussed the time is infinite. So in that sense how many years it will take for the "event line" to finish infinite years?

12:39 PM
what do you mean by to finish infinite years?

The time is "infinite" as we agreed above. The "event line" is only 1 moment (i.e. sequential events happen). So to finish infinite years, how much time it will take for "event line".

infinite (or 0 as I've tried earlier)

well, your first guess is right. It will take "infinite" years.
Because the "event line" for all the universe is travelling on the time axis.

So which means because "infinite years have passed" before our current existence, it will take "infinite years" for the "event line" to reach us. Correct?

yes

Great. Now the main point comes and actually we will have to be little quick as I have to leave in 10 mins.
So if something takes "infinite years", then it will never reach. In other words, the "event line" can never reach the present moment or any moment we choose. Because there are always infinite events are yet to happen before that chosen moment.
Got it?

12:45 PM
no-problem (I'm ready to continue in future if brakes)

Nice. You are pretty quick in grasping.
As we proved above that if infinite years have passed then we can never reach the present moment. But still we have reached the present moment. How it is possible? Any guess?

notice : (removed).
ok. we can never reach the present moment......
I think the solution is:
what do you think if I say it was never started!?
and not running
and will not finish
How above words reacting with you?

That's also an interesting aspect, which I have partially discussed as the last argument in my answer
that's more about thinking that "everything around us is a hallucination". However if it never started then we couldn't be chatting. Whatever we do is real. It might be in dream of god, but for us it's real.
Also if it never started, then we couldn't have come into existence. Before us our parents were there and before them grandparents and so on,,,

If it is never running, then that means the moment is frozen. But it's not true. Whatever Upanishads you read, is come into being because someone wrote it, someone uploaded and you are reading.

If it is never finishing, then that means the great Pralaya described by Krishna will never happen. May be we can assume only this part, if we really want.

I agree with "that's more about thinking that "everything around us is a hallucination". However if it never started then we couldn't be chatting."

@Pandya, Anyhow, I will be interested to know about you making a model of universe which satsifies below eternal truth

1. Time is forever ticking
2. We are existing in present

If you could come up with such model then it will be useful.

For now I have to get going. You may leave the messages, I will be online after 30 mins. Thanks!

12:58 PM
ok I am leaving currently, I'll talk/leave-message after 1 or 2 hours
