@Memor-X Could be worse.
08:53
Faputa exists.
09:18
@Memor-X Actually, you don't even need Mitty/Faputa. FromSoftware is perfectly able to do horrible things without needing to look at anime.
Maiden Astraea just being one of the worse offenders.

Finally player will be able to play console war in-game and shoot cannonballs at each other.
I suggest an automatic faction system that marks out PS and XBOX players with different colors so that they can hate each other.
(also, I am still waiting for an April fool where they claim to have added Zack Storm to the game)
12:21
> "Pokemon Scarlet/Violet issues are due to the Switch being underpowered, you can't do any better with that hardware"
yeah, right.

Only source on youtube I could find.
Genshin doing a collaboration with Sunshiro, a sushi restaurant.
And.. they pick the one girl that is considered a mermaid and actively hates eating fish.
While having at least three actual catgirls and 2 fake ones (cat-ears shaped hair)

@SPArcheon That is the stupidest and laziest excuse i've heard ever
From day 1 of development it was gonna be on switch and only on switch
I could see if the game was multiplatform and they had to kneecap the game to make it work on switch ok maybe, a bad switch port, oops
@Fredy31 still one that comes up from people defending the game.
but Pokemon, from day 1, was gonna be on switch and only on switch. If shit doesnt work on switch, you have to change it
And yeah to come back to the point you were making, its not like we havent seen more impressive on switch
BOTW/TOTK was a locked at least 30 in 95% of the game and you could see where they pushed the switch maybe a little bit hard
Pretty sure Xenoblade 2-3 was locked 30 too
Pokemon: Empty world with 2 blades of grass... 20 fps
Like weve heard that TOTK was ready a year before release, and they just took a year of optimisation and clean up
PS/V needed that
and dont tell me they havent got the budget
I found it fucking funny when I played scarlet recently; when you were talking about that I always tought 'it cant be that bad' and/or 'hell, shitty releases happen, they'll fix it'
It IS that bad, and they havent fixed it
i was mad just looking at how when theres a gym battle, the trainer, the gym leader, and pokemon are 30fps, but EVERYBODY else is like at 5
@Fredy31 wait, you probably are missing some info.
And really, its the engine team that fucked that one up; rest was fine
@Fredy31 It is NOT frame rate drops.
What you are seeing is frame skipping
the game is programmed to drop frames for "distant" actors
(where distant means like 2 meters from you)
so, they TRIED to "optimize" and that was they come out with.
16:06
Like Story, previsible but in pokemon they usually dont go out the box anyways; Some problems with the open 'go to any gym anytime', in the way that you are not given an order and you might just walk up to a gym that will wipe the floor with you; and the new pokemon were ok, as always
Yeah, that is a good point to raise; the optimisation was so lazy that they didnt even seem to look at how they could optimise the actors or whatever, they just made all the NPCs just drop frames
cue egoraptors rant about how Skyward Sword was a shit game because it just assumed because it was of the Zelda lineage, it would be automatically good
Which I don't agree 100% with, but yeah in the Skyward Sword game they were definitely more going through the motions than actually working to rock the boat and break expectations
@Fredy31 the game intro has a frame at the end where the characters are stuck in T-Pose. Was noticed soon after the game launch. It is still there afaik
@Fredy31 don't you dare to mistreat the game that finally gave us "Adorable Zelda"
Hylia save us from them turning to Ocarina grumpy Zelda again.
@Fredy31 Also... do you want to know how bad it is?
let me check... I had a video of the intro skipping frames
@Fredy31 Found it!
just look at the legs
16:41
Yep, its so stupid
like there is the 'hero' character of the scene, 30fps
the guy RIGHT NEXT TO THEM, not on the edge of frame or whatever... 15
Variable frame rate animations is a pretty common optimisation, lots of games use it depending on how important the animation is
Also for things in the background
17:15
@Ronan I think calling the video I just posted "optimization" is quite a stretch. I get the principle, I am saying that they implemented it horribly like all the rest
I haven't watched the video, I'm just saying that multiple animations playing at different rates doesn't mean the game is lagging or anything
Also I wouldn't call it a "frame rate issue"
The frame rate is about how often the screen refreshes, not any individual actor updates state
1 hour ago, by SPArcheon
What you are seeing is frame skipping
Yep, what I said before.
Ah yeah, I was just looking at the title of the video, my bad
@Ronan yes, I agree the title is kinda "wrong", the problem is that back then everyone was just talking about "frame rate" for everything.
Mind you, it also has prominent actual frame loss
Oh yeah probably
I also hear there's a swamp that crashes the game or something?
17:21
and evident memory-leak issues since the longer you play the worse it get until you restart the game
I really hate it when people talk about game dev problems and just make stuff up based on not understanding how anything works
@Ronan multiple areas can easily crash the game, especially if you dare to go to fast ridding the local legendary. Which is kinda one of the game main advertised gimmik
Got a little better after the updates, still not resolved.

Hadn't yet shared a picture of the Blahaj I bought a couple weeks ago

@SPArcheon i don't think i saw Strea either and Sugou is in it so i suspect it's not in the video game timeline
because if i recall Sugou died in SAO after he fled following the Boss Gantlet on Floor 95-99
@SPArcheon this was always a bullshit excuse. Links Awakening and Xenoblade Chronicles is proof of that
