THE SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON NEWS GENERATOR polygon.com/22568400/san-diego-comic-con-news-generator
Annoyingly the website had the all caps in the title and I can’t be arsed to fix it for them

tried out a few of those Mechanic Simulator games from PlayWay S.A

Train Mechanic Simulator seems to be more about luck as 2nd job you can't get the bonus for being under budget unless your lucky to repair the parts but the chances are very low since after 1 upgrade to 1 bench you have a 15% chance. you don't seem to be able to pick other job even with the Electric and Steam Depots as you can't go into them to do another job to get some workshop upgrades

Tank Mechanic Simulator is a bit more technical but the tutorial is sort of a mess. do like how when buying parts it's grouped by Tank b

@Wipqozn It is…okay?
Like there's more complexity than XCOM 2 which in some ways is good but in some ways they take it too far and then they also borrowed some annoying mechanics from XCOM 2 they could have just, not used and I don't fully understand why
Also character visibility makes zero sense, unless there's some kind of "lean out" key I've missed
"I'm behind full cover so now if I try to aim I'm just going to aim into the cover" type of thing which is very ???

95% hit rate at point blank range. still miss
at least in Metal Gear Ac!d they do a cool dodge pose when that happens

That is actually much better

@TimStone I remember hearing at launch that the free aiming was clever, but had problems.

Yeah, that has not changed, although when it's not having a problem it's actually quite useful
Especially because you can "disable" different body parts which can make a very dangerous enemy less dangerous until you can fully kill it
e.g. mind control units are kinda tanky sometimes but if you disable their head they stop being mind-controlly

just found out that any Final Fantasy game titled (Old ver.) that has the "Pixel Perfect" version coming out is going to be unavailable for purchase
any that are titled (3D Remake) will remain
so Final Fantasy V and VI will be gone. Final Fantasy III and IV will remain
sorta conflicted because while the UI, sprites and front were bad choices, i did like Yoshitaka Amano's artwork bring used. have not seen if it's in the pixel perfect versions

@TimStone That's the part which really appealed to me pre-launhc.
Also just the free aiming in general.
Should probably eventually play it, considering I own it.

4:19 PM
Yeah, it's not bad! It's just a bit frustrating that they seemed to have put out a lot of DLC instead of maybe uhh fixing, some of the things

@TimStone Yes

Interestingly I haven't gotten anyone killed but I also get the feeling I'm not playing "correctly" and thus will lose the end game

I think it was in way worse shape at launch.

That's very possible, it's totally playable right now I'm just not sure yet if I'll like it as much as I liked XCOM to keep playing
Which would be unfortunate because there's a lot more game here

Hi all – I'd like to ask a question but I think it is not within site guidelines as it's probably too opinion based. I'm not certain on this, but I'd like your opinion
Basically – the question would be "what RPGs are similar in spirit to Google's current Olympic themed Doodle -- the Champion Island Games"
My girlfriend – who is a university lecturer in chemistry – unexpectedly loved it. I'd like nothing more than to game with her, but she's always been a bit resistant to the idea, and if there's anything ideally multiplayer and similar to that, I'd like to know about it. But I think this might fall too much into the "primarily opinion based" side of subjective questions

4:28 PM
@Landak This would be off topic due to being a game recommendation question. You could try asking on reddit.com/r/ShouldIbuythisgame

@Wipqozn – thank you – I thought so, but wasn't totally certain if "what is similar" was in the same boat as "what would I like"

I didn't really play enough of it to recommend anything, or I would try to.

It was a bit warioworld like – quite fun! The mini Guitar Hero "synchronised swimming" event was my personal fave

@TimStone Okay extra dumb thing is that there's a base defense mechanic but it doesn't let you select where to place units so some of them are just somewhere completely useless 🤔

Hey all, wondering if anyone knows of any local or otherwise arcades that have a companion app that can be downloaded from google play

...what would a companion app for an arcade do, and why would you want one?
