Basically, this is how you do support - assume you are talking to someone who has never seen a computer ever. Start that way, adjust as they mention things that make them sound like they know thins

@GodEmperorDune well maybe if they didn't change everything. the other day i swapped my mum's old crapping Windows 7 machine (problems with the machine not the OS) to her new Windows 10 Laptop.....to turn it off she just pressed the power button because she couldn't find how to turn it off based off what she remembered from Windows 7 and realized it didn't turn it off. the laptop was "locked" (there's no password so is it really locked) the entire day until i showed her how to turn it off

@Memor-X the main thing here is that if you learn to use a computer by memorizing UI, you get lost when the UI changes

phone stuff is the worst. apple likes to move settings around and it seems i fall into the subset of users who use features that the rest of the world doesn't so my stuff is always getting moved around or silently removed

like when they decided to go with heart or not instead of 5 star rating scale... so they removed the ability to rate songs on your phone with stars

heart or not is the worst precision

But it is the simplest thing to do

if you never could rate songs with stars on iphone i would understand why they didn't add it, but this was an existing feature that they took away
