@murgatroid99 tucks and bounces go to command zone now
Well, have the option to

@OrigamiRobot what? That's ridiculous

out of curiosity checked if wiki has a page on latvian cuisine and it does :O
Latvian cuisine typically consists of agricultural products, with meat featuring in most main meal dishes. Fish is commonly consumed due to Latvia's location on the east coast of the Baltic Sea. Latvian cuisine has been influenced by neighboring countries in the Baltic region. Common ingredients in Latvian recipes are found locally, such as potatoes, wheat, barley, cabbage, onions, eggs and pork. Latvian food is generally quite fatty, and uses few spices. == Meals == Contemporary Latvians usually eat three meals a day. Breakfast is normally light and usually consists of sandwiches or an omelette...

Gods seem stronger now

That basically negates the only good commander removal
Which is really stupid

12:14 AM
@Chippies I'd be surprised if it doesn't have <Country> Cuisine for all nations of the world

@Chippies Kliņģeris sounds really good

@OrigamiRobot oh, and this isn't loading. Do you have a reference to the comp rules change?

@PrivatePansy the fact that I've seen at least a couple different <Country> cuisine pages in last week or two made me curious
didn't know wiki had all this stuff
@MattGiltaji it's good if done well and is fresh, cheap ones aren't that great

@Chippies that's the case with most foods :p

fair enough :P
some foods are more sensitive to being fresh and well done though :P

12:16 AM
@murgatroid99 Not sure if there is a comp rules change yet. That will probably be announced with the rest sometime this week.

@Chippies yeah i'm a sucker for breads

@OrigamiRobot Well, that sounds terrible

> 1) We want to engender as positive an experience as we can for players. Nothing runs the feel-bads worse than having your commander unavailable to you for the whole game.
> 2) The presence of tuck encourages players to play more tutors so that in case their commander gets sent to the library, they can get it back—exactly the opposite of what we want (namely, discouraging the over-representation of tutors).
> 3) While we are keenly aware that tuck is a great weapon against problematic commanders, the tools to do so are available only in blue and white, potentially forcing players into feeling like they need to play those colors in order to survive. We prefer as diverse a field as possible.
> 4) It clears up some corner case rules awkwardness, mostly dealing with knowing the commander’s locationin the library (since highly unlikely to actually end up there).

@OrigamiRobot What is a "tuck"? An effect that puts it into your deck?

@StrixVaria bottom of deck

12:19 AM
@StrixVaria yes

On the other hand, now the game is just: play a BS commander. There is no recourse. The end
Also, if your deck is that over-reliant on having your commander, that's your fault.

Q: I was fiddling with Borderlands 2 Profile editor and can't reduce any values?

SlanizI was playing around with the profile editor and i wanted to lower a few values to play around with some friends and not ruin the experience for them and it seems like they can't be lowered. And I know you can completely disable all of the bonus, but I just wanted to lower the damage but still be...

@murgatroid99 That argument can be applied to a lot of things

@OrigamiRobot still, making it so that there is literally nothing you can do against an overpowered commander is really stupid

12:26 AM
ugh, is there any way in Cities to reverse the direction of one-way roads?
@Wipqozn @StrixVaria

@OrigamiRobot rebuild them in other direction
you can't reverse it without bulldozing the original one-way road
same with converting two-way into one-way, gotta bulldoze

@murgatroid99 If the RC felt one was OP, they'd ban it. And there are still ways to deal with them

@RedRiderX wtf

@OrigamiRobot In my experience, it can be a way to even out deck power levels a little. Tucking can deal with just about any commander, and it can stay dealt with for a while

@murgatroid99 aka dealt with forever

12:32 AM
@OrigamiRobot unless you have any tutors or shuffle effects in your deck

I refer you to points 1 and 2

@OrigamiRobot ok, then what ways of dealing with commanders would you suggest?

Which commander?

Purphoros

Gods seem stronger now

12:33 AM
@OrigamiRobot that's not an answer

No, it's conceding that Gods are stronger

@OrigamiRobot so you agree that there is now literally no good way to counter a Purphoros deck?

@murgatroid99 counter with two Purphoros decks!

@murgatroid99 What do you define as "good"

What's twice as strong as a Purphoros deck?
Two Purphoros decks!

12:35 AM
I know what I'd get against it in my Sisay deck

@OrigamiRobot If it's a spell, you don't need to cast more than one to have a significant effect
i.e. not shattering blow

@OrigamiRobot That's easier to kill than the thing it's supposed to deal with

I think you're forgetting that commanders will still have to be recast.
They're not invincible

Here's the thing. Purphoros deals damage when a creature enters. They can sacrifice that creature

12:40 AM
Anything I say you can come up with a situation it's not good in. That's how Magic works.

@OrigamiRobot I'm still talking about the same situation: Purphoros deck
Purphoros is a good commander in token decks because of the direct damage

If you think Purphoros is too strong, don't play against it.

It wasn't too strong before

I put no time qualifiers in my statement

The point I'm making is that this rule change is bad because it makes some commanders unreasonably overpowered

12:43 AM
You've named one so far

It was the first example that came to mind

And it's not like they made tuck/bounce do nothing

Getting your commander sent back to the command zone just makes you spend a little more mana. Unless you can't afford it, in which case we're right back at point 1)

@GnomeSlice yeah I haven't played the game since because I feel like I need to retire as a champion

It costs 2 more. You can only play one land per turn. You have to work to recast it often.

12:50 AM
It's not like it's going to get removed every turn

HI CHAT
I AM RETURNED FROM THE OTHER SIDE.
Also holy shit, this is this Hotel's 'premium' internet that they charge 5 bucks/day for:

@OrigamiRobot you're defending putting commanders in a privileged position where there is absolutely no way to truly get rid of them
It's not like that's normal in magic

They don't want a way to truly get rid of them

Removal has always been a part of how Magic is balanced

12:54 AM
There is still removal

Q: what is the best way to survive 30 waves on mw3 survival map:resistance

james dewisive been trying to survive mw3 survival on the map resistance but i cant get past wave 25.im trying to survive to wave 30 but have no luck.what is the best way for me to achieve this? ive used every tactic i know but none work.

In normal Magic, if you exile something, it stays gone, barring extremely unusual cards
With this change, there is no way to get rid of a commander for a significant amount of time

Exile already put them back in the command zone

@OrigamiRobot I know. I said "in normal Magic"

@LessPop_MoreFizz how was the other side?

12:55 AM
So how is that relevant?

@MattGiltaji There was a lot of beer there.
Also some bourbon.
And maybe some other things?
Honestly, much of the other side is pretty fuzzy

2 mins ago, by murgatroid99
Removal has always been a part of how Magic is balanced
Removal isn't the same if it's only for a couple of turns

@LessPop_MoreFizz prolly the bourbon

@MattGiltaji nah, more likely the beer.
there wasn't that much bourbon. There was a whole lot of beer.

It's not the same, but it's not nothing

12:57 AM
@LessPop_MoreFizz so now there is an empty lot of beer?

@OrigamiRobot OK, here's an example: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician

I don't know what your EDH meta is like, but exile is still good in mine even though commanders still go back to the command zone

@MattGiltaji Yeah, probably

user15026
Someone help me I have Keith Urban's Cop Car stuck in my head. It's THE WORST.

user15026
Seriously, so many of his songs have the stupidest lyrics.

1:00 AM
This was friday pregaming before going out.
(That's several thousand dollars worth of rare beer on the second hand market, because my friends are insane.)

@OrigamiRobot I think most of us just play destruction, because it has the same effect in most cases
Honestly, this probably won't have much effect on the games I play. I just don't like the idea of removing the capability of dealing with obnoxious commanders

@LessPop_MoreFizz I see a beard in that mirror

One of the people in my play group plays really obnoxious decks, like the Arcum Dagsson deck that tutors out every annoying control artifact ever printed, or the Maelstrom Wanderer deck that tries to cascade into Armageddon.

@James One of about 5 in that room when that photo was taken.
(There is also a beard in the chair at the end of the table.)

@LessPop_MoreFizz O.o so i see! I thought it was the same beard and just some whitebalance issue between the person and the reflection
:D

1:10 AM
@murgatroid99 For me, the best answer to obnoxious decks/players has always been to not play with them
And if you're the one playing an obnoxious deck, you shouldn't be surprised that people don't want to play you.

@OrigamiRobot It's a play group made from a group at work. I think none of us feel good about telling him not to play

No one forced him to play a degenerate deck.
Sometimes my group likes to tell that person, "OK, you won. Now the rest of us are going to continue this game without you."

@OrigamiRobot That might actually be a good option
In some ways, it seems too mean to kick him out
And the fact that it's at work makes it a little more complicated

I am of the opinion that if your deck is designed to not let people play Magic, you shouldn't be able to play Magic.

@OrigamiRobot Our strategy so far has basically been: everyone try to take him out quickly, and if he cascades into Armageddon, everyone concedes

1:16 AM
Someone should probably tell him that he's not fun to play with.
He may not realize it.

I can do some terrible things in my decks. I don't usually try to do them, they're just there if I end up needing them.

Q: Is there a way to make it so hunger doesnt go down?

nathan meyerI want to play mine-craft but without the hassle of gathering food. I know I can play in peaceful but I want hostile mobs to spawn. Is there a way to get rid of hunger, but still have hostile mobs spawn?

I could Sisay up Linvala and Iona every time and grind out a win, but that's not fun.

user15026
@Frank That's so hard to do :(

1:19 AM
If you're gonna win like that, at least do it quickly so everyone can start a new game.

@AshleyNunn I know. It's a really rough thing to tell someone that his strategy, while it might help him win, isn't really fun to play against.

@OrigamiRobot Yeah, the issue is that he cascades, then he has a 6/6 with haste and nobody else has lands or creatures

He might have more fun if he changes up his strategy.

@Frank I think this is a standard issue with control players: they enjoy controlling the game, which ends up meaning that nobody else gets to do anything

@murgatroid99 This.

1:22 AM
@murgatroid99 In which case, making it known to him that he isn't fun to play with, and him refusing to change, means it's an easy thing to do to cut him out.

@Frank that kind of confrontation is never easy
And I have a history of working very hard to avoid hurting people's feelings, especially when I interact with them in person

@murgatroid99 I have Worldslayer in my Zurgo deck. I have done it before. It's definitely not my goal though.
And I always switch decks when I win, regardless of how I won.

@OrigamiRobot I'm not saying mass destruction spells are bad. It's just obnoxious when the deck is built with the single goal of destroying everyone's lands

Unless I have a brand new deck that I want to break in.

@murgatroid99 No, it's not. Which is why the easier thing to do is just to avoid it. I go at it from an informal point. Make it light, but by letting him be, there are more hurt feelings from the rest of you.
Something like, "Hey, man, that deck lets you win, but it's kinda unfun to play against. Think you might be able to build another one? Try something else out?"

1:27 AM
Oh hey, it's dinner time.
I've done nothing productive all day

@Wipqozn Stop pinging me with this.
@StrixVaria Weird. Not a bad track I guess. The video is dumb.

@GnomeSlice Yeah the video is whatever. I thought the track was neat.
I like his weird-genre-combination stuff.

> I’m not able to tell you at this point if THE GAME IS REALLY GOOD or not. So you’ll just have to continue not knowing if IT’S DEFINITELY WORTH GETTING for a couple more days.

Lol review embargoes.

1:33 AM
@GnomeSlice Will listen once my wife's off the phone.

Also my friend and I were talking about all the metal shit we used to listen to in highschool the other day
like this

@GnomeSlice I think you linked this to me on Steam the other day? I wasn't a huge fan.

Yeah I did, you were offline though wasn't sure it went through
haha

You were offline by the time I saw it, so I never mentioned that I saw it.

@Chippies want to play Meltdown?

1:44 AM

That's fuct
@LessPop_MoreFizz I wonder if this dog is blind in one eye or something.
Because that would explain the poor depth vision

If you toss food to my dog he just braces for impact and lets it hit him in the face without any attempt to catch it.

@StrixVaria :/

Even tacos?

1:56 AM
I haven't tossed a whole taco to my dog because I wouldn't waste a good taco.

Hi all. Is there anyone here with some HTML/CSS/PHP experience? Need some help before searching for a freelancer :D

@GnomeSlice yeah, I wondered the same thing.

user15026
@StrixVaria My sister's dog does the same thing.
