@SPArcheon my money is it ending when Meteor is Summoned, likely after the WEAPONs are awakened or when Tifa wakes up in Junon and sees Meteor in the sky
@SPArcheon another Jenova incarnation, which is actually more interesting as it looks different to the first one while compared to the original they were just recolours with different attacks
@Memor-X yep, I also guessed Jenova, that would mean that they are planning to forego the "humanoid" form altogether. This looks like a full fledged parasite .
But I was more focusing on the place.
The trailer has a cave that could be the Mithril cave just after the swamp.
@SPArcheon not necessarily when you remember that these are likely what Jenova Birth/Life/Death were in the original
@SPArcheon or it's like Dreamweaver and it's an illusionary location they'll fight in
since we know that Cosmo Canyon is visited then that likely means the Cargo ship and that was were Jenova Birth was fought. now if there was to be a similar fight there either the battle takes place in the ship or like Dreamweaver they end up somewhere else, fight Jenova and then return to the ship
i am hoping that Rebirth has no save game importing from the first one or if it does it can accept PC Save data. going to be a pain in the ass to avoid spoilers until it comes out on PC (just as much so with how big the game is going to be)
@SPArcheon we can sorta guess because there's only going to be 3 games and really only 2 got points to end the 2nd one at this stage
@Memor-X IF they are going for three games, then the fact that the logo now is half red means that the crater is indeed the most probable ending for the game.
After the Forgotten City which is the end of Disk 1 or as i said, after Meteor is summoned which is roughly around the same point in Disk 2 as leaving Midgar would be in Disk 1
or at least from my initial memories, i spent sooooo much time in that area because i couldn't beat the boss there for a long time
We already agreed to disagree on that one. Mostly pointing out that if you see someone trying for the next six month to say that Sephiroth was talking about Aerith in that line, they are idiots.
@Memor-X or they watched the ENGLISH trailer which is the only one that made that idiotic mistake.
Alas, you may want to notice that in the original game Clouds tells Tifa that he though she died 5 years ago in the incident. Now look who knows about that and is using yet another info from the original to mess up and change things...
it's very deliberate with the choice of scene as what happened to Tifa was a glaring hole in Cloud's recollection. at least this time Tifa does seem to voice her concern about Cloud's recollection as opposed to it being implied and made explicit in subsequent media
@Memor-X that there are a tons of fans that thinks that the line "I killed her" played while Sephiroth attacks Tifa is just a misleading ads device with the dialogue being from a different part of the game where he talks about Aerith.
But that is impossible because every single other trailer uses Tifa name explicitly there
which if he does, is likely because of The Whispers and Sephiroth/Jenova having corrupted the planet's defensive systems (the Weapons are fine because they were born before Jeonva had contaminated the lifestream)
Hello! I'm new to the chat. I was hoping to get some advice for a question I don't think is appropriate for stack exchange. I'm not sure where would be a good place to ask it. Is this a bad place to ask advice?
@Memor-X that is a different thing, it is indeed true and so does Aerith. Didn't about 18 pages of actual evidence from the first game that she knows things in advance that she has no way to know otherwise satisfy you? Not even the one where the official guide confirms that Aerith knows too much?
ok, found it. the game's director has said the plot isn't changing
> According to a new interview at Gamer JP (translated by @aitaikimochi on Twitter) with director Tetsuya Nomura, the “axis of the story” in FF7 Rebirth “will not change from the original game.” The team’s goal is that it will be a “new experience with new developments” like with Remake, and that “players new and old will be able to enjoy this story.”
I'm trying to get game recommendations for some specific criteria. I tried asking in a couple of reddit communities, but didn't have much luck. Where would you suggest trying?
@HighlandRat yeh so a question like that wouldn't be allowed on the main site. however you're welcome to ask that here in the chat room. can't guarantee if you'll get more results from asking here in chat
other places you could try are gaming related Discord Servers
@Memor-X Hmm, I'll give discord a shot as well. I don't know where to find specific ones, I kinda just stumble into recommendations. Where do I look for types of servers? Is there a list or something?
If you're interested this is the question I posed to reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/videogames/comments/144auqm/looking_for_versus_puzzle_games_with_good/
the advance versions like FES, Golden and Royal added new stuff giving the games that much of a refresh to make them enjoyable to returning players. Kotone's Route in Persona 3 is very much like a Final Fantasy VII Remake because she had new social links, some events are different because it's her and possible changes to the plot but the overall thing stayed the same
@SPArcheon not really
with the exception of that first bit (which can easily be explained as being Shinra Propaganda and to fuel anti-Wutai sentiment) there isn't much in there returning fans wouldn't already work out, and yet still is interesting to want to play it in this version
@Memor-X that thing, either an ingame joke before the actual trailer (everyone died in episode 1, similar to the "Ash is in coma" meme) or tied to the dog too.
Yeah, it's tricky. 😅 I feel the only hope I have is asking around. Thanks for giving it a look 🙇✨
Thanks for Super Smash, I wouldn't have thought of that! I'll see what I can find for puzzle game Discord communities, that's a good tip as well! Thanks for your help! 😁✨
coincidentally, IGN is doing a video about how fans wanted to keep Aerith alive and even "rewrote fate" to do so.
The timing, the wording, this is on purpose.
even if you don't think the game will change, it is pretty evident they know what change people are arguing over.
so, either this time she lives and they are very lovely playing with us (people will cry this time but for the opposite reason)
or they know and they are purposely keeping that as a red herring to boost sales because they are full aware a part of the players don't want to go thru the same game and would not buy it even with all the best graphics in the world, and in this case they are some little, dastardly ....
