Reason: Pornography
no idea why work think it's porn

@Memor-X Because it's hard drive, duh

Hey, is it okay for me to ask questions like this one for an older niche retro game? It felt awkward to create it since it didn't have a tag yet, but it seems to have gotten upvotes..? gaming.stackexchange.com/q/388063/276201
@toroid Yes, that's fine. If you're concerned about the lack of an answer, it'd likely just because it is such an old game.
As an aside I remember playing that as kid and it was so much fun.
@Wipqozn Not concerned about the lack of an answer, just wanted to make sure it was on topic and in the rules and stuff :)
@Wipqozn I just played through it in a weekend this month, took me about 8 hours to get through to the end. Not sure if I'm up for the post game grind though :P
I'm really proud I didn't have to look up any deck guides on GameFAQs though! I've gotten a lot better at trading card games since I played it as a kid 😁

> Airplane altitude provided to ATC from the airplane transponder will not correlate correctly with the altitude indicated on the airplane's altimeter. VATSIM/IVAO will see MSFS airplanes at a different altitude than what the pilots see
oh good
we get to simulate failed mode C altitude reporting until this is hotfixed
wait what
Apparently they did something with temperature and pressure or something so MSFS altimeters are wrong
And will report mismatched info to VATSIM, in-game ATC, and apparently autopilot
Oh, right, this is MS flight simulator
not actual ATC software
Yeah lol, actual ATC software works similarly though, the transponder grabs the current altitude and beams that into space, except that in the real world that number is going to be reliable as long as all your instruments are reliable
16:39
Oh, I know, but I mean my first read of your message was "new air traffic control bug [in real airports] just dropped"
Can you imagine
That would probably (or hopefully) cause a ground stop if there was more than a couple dozen "suddenly mode C reporting is failed"
@Unionhawk I'm not even sure how that could even happen. AFAIK airplanes don't get OTA updates, and especially while flying
like, updating the software on your airplane while in midflight seems like a good way to crash it
@Nzall When you initially call in to be radar identified you're supposed to report altitude so the radar controller can verify your output
So it couldn't happen on a mass scale
But occasionally it does which could indicate an unreliable altimeter, and usually you have 3 altimeters on board to cross check and find out which one disagrees and turn that one off
at least, airliners do anyway
Wouldn't they notice faulty altimeters on the tarmac anyway?
They should but I mean
If it happened in flight somehow you can cross check and diagnose
you'd also probably get a master caution for it
I think you'd probably suffer unreliable airspeed as well which is worse, one of only a handful of "immediate memory item action is required" scenarios
16:58
You should receive a warning in the cockpit for a mismatch between barometric altitude and other altitude sources (GPS, radar altimeter if equipped), but ATC doesn't always have a second source of altitude
We definitely don't on vatsim since all we get is the simconnect variable->pilot client->network->radar client
So it's possible they completely messed up the sim and calculating the barometric altitude differently for the cockpit display and transponder feed?
Yeah
I think technically the simconnect var is correct vs where the plane actually is
It's just displayed wrong to the pilot in certain temperature and pressure configurations
Well then the shouldn't the secondary sources report correctly?
I mean for values of correctly

BREAKING: Activision Blizzard employees will strike tomorrow outside Blizzard's campus to protest the company's responses to the discrimination lawsuit and to demand more equitable treatment for staff t.co/T1d39qpsmq
I can't say I'm surprised. Management's responses to the lawsuit have been abhorrent.
17:54
@Spevacus Their response was aimed at appeasing the shareholders
And the massive outrage from the community has today dropped their share prices by 10%
Bruuuutal.
18:48
@Spevacus Do you have any other accounts?
18:59
@NikeDattani On Stack Exchange? Nope.
Why do you ask?
@Spevacus Because you have so much more rep on Meta.SE than on any other site! hahaha
@Spevacus Hopefully it'll be a large enough group to have an impact.
19:20
@NikeDattani What can I say? I'm a bit of a Meta enthusiast ;D.
The innerworkings of the network are quite interesting to me, so I kind of just... dug into how it works. Now I flag spam across the network with Charcoal/SmokeDetector and contribute in a few sites, Arqade being my next-highest rep site. I quite like it here :D

It's a fun place
Although much quieter than it used to be
Yeah I remember lurking (no account at the time) the site awhile ago. The activity in it was really high.
It's unfortunate to see it sorta dwindle. Still plenty of activity, but not quite nearly as much.
pokes Forza Horizon 4 with a stick
Plus: pretty open world car go zoom
Minus: $80 + $175 for DLC
WTF: DLC includes stuff like "for $5 we will actually display hotspots on the map"
22:11
@ToxicFrog Man, that's my problem with Stellaris now
I think I'd absolutely love it
But with all the DLC it's so expensive now
Stellaris (and other Paradox games) are in a more defensible position because while, on the one hand, you can argue that the game isn't really complete without the DLC, on the other hand the DLC does actually add game content
Forza is just locking away basic UI features behind DLC and that's really not a business model I want to support.
22:56
@ToxicFrog I mean, yeah, that's definitely an awful thing to do
I wasn't saying what Paradox was doing was wrong, it's just frustrating

Q: How do I question a witness with emotions instead of evidence?

StevoisiakDuring the 5th case of Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, you get an option to question a witness using either his testimony or his emotions. If you select testimony, Athena says she can switch back to looking for inconsistent emotions, but the only option I can see is to present evidence. How do I sw...

@ToxicFrog The base version is on game pass. I wonder if they're doing this to try to milk game pass users
