Recent Questions - Arqade: Where can I view badges I've earned?

I noticed that I've occasionally been getting badges (seems like a local version of achievements for this game). Unfortunately, while mashing A to get through victory screens, I sometimes blow through the popup that tells me what I earned and I'm unable to see what it was. I haven't been able to find how to view these badges after earning them, but I assume there's a …

C++/C difference, in C++ you're constructing a new float object, in C you're crashing

So it's not a function =p

Thing is "construct a Thing object on the stack"

new (thingPointer) Thing is "construct a Thing object on the memory pointed to by pointer, and hope that it is of sufficient size"

Some people consider it to be an anti-pattern, but it's perfectly legal.

Well, mostly new (T* ) T is used for object pools and such, you can have errors where you have less memory then you think you have

Q: How do you perform the Festival Platform creative finisher?

Festival Platforms are meant to be destroyed, but some of them have the creative finisher sign next to them. Despite KOing an opponent in front of the platforms multiple times, I've never seen the finisher happen. Is there an additional requirement for the finisher? How do you perform it?

@Yuuki We're teaching C, not C++, but the online grader uses g++ for some reason

Oh, right, because the test runner is a C++ test runner, and they looked at the difference between the two languages, then shrugged and said "close enough"

To my knowledge if you don't write horrible terrible C code then C++ is backward compatible with C
