Question about work probationary periods: does management call you in to tell you about the results of said probationary period or is it more of a "if we haven't fired you after the three month period, you're (more) secure" sort of thing?

@Yuuki Depends on the place. If they don't call you in I wouldn't be worried about it. Could ask if you are.

The probationary period is just to make sure you're not terrible at your job or a crazy person

or in the cases of shitty places to just fire you for no reason and get cheap labour

Like once your passed the period it's done and over with. If it was in your contract, and the time has passed, then it's done. You're more secure.

I'll probably ask sometime this week. The biggest reason why I haven't found my own apartment or something is that I don't know if I'm stable in my current job.

The second reason being that I don't have to pay rent, which is a nice boost to my savings, but it's very slowly being outweighed by numerous other factors.
