Honestly, spam isn't as big of a deal here as it is on other sites. It's so easy for us to deal with it we can get rid of it in a few minutes.

Sure, but that's always going to be the case.

It's like DRM. We could make methods to stop spammers, but it would just wind up hurting regular users too.

You need to choose a middle ground which helps curb the spam issue without inconveniencing your users.

Most spammers probably just use proxies.
