@Aarthi I could identify a few reasons that participation might be lower, part of it is sales, but I think there are other factors. (i.e. we have a huge tail of SC2 questions that are still relevant, a lot of SC II Q&A is based on a multiplayer metagame that develops over months, not days from release, etc. etc.)

Essentially, the odds at the higher tiers aren't really worth the effort. It's better than nothing, but not something I'd gun for as hard unless I was really into the game (which I'm not, see #1)

@Ender there is probably a label on the power supply that gives a model number and a wattage. Sometimes the store page for the card will list its PSU requirements, but there's also a lot of things that changed in PSUs in the last 5 or so years.

as far as "Is this definitely your problem" it's hard to say, I mean, you might have a bad card or something else might be going wrong. it's just the first thing I suspect when your PSU didn't have the black 4-pin power connectors.

@MadScientist indeed. given its age, I'm inclined to think it's underpowered, just because I know there was some serious rebalancing of the various rails at some point in the last few years. I bought a power supply a year or two ago and was still concerned it couldn't drive the card I bought last month. everything turned out OK in the end, though.

@fbueckert Funny that. SO3 is the one I had issues with, but that was because we had a poor disc. It took us years before we found a place that could clean it, but then they did, and it was awesome.
