@badp: Ok, so bought and played Analogue, and I was mostly correct, only you have a Ghost and an AI, not two AIs. You still need to be nice and manipulative to them to get a kind of "good" ending and most of the information, and that's it. ;) Still, a nice game, and it breaks up the formula in enough places to make it interesting.

Yeah well, it's nice that it doesn't provide any motivation to the player character besides their mission. This way, I can easily finish the story by going "... and then I'll drop off the ghost along with the evidence to the nearest authorities and have it tried for its crimes." ;)

@badp No idea what ending 2 is. First one I got was "The ghost falls in love with the PC, PC leaves ship with it stored", though.

@badp We don't have ghosts (or sentient AIs) yet, but the future does, so they of course also have proper ways to deal punishments for crimes as well. Which those are don't really matter at this point.

Might be a death sentence, might be putting on fail-safes to prevent future such crimes, whatever works. :)

What I meant was: Replace part of it which would consider such a crime with code which simply doesn't allow it, making the AI even thinking about such uncomfortable, or even shutting itself down. Store the original, restore it when the sentence is up. Basically, the AI form of a temporally limited lobotomy.
