In some Dwarf Fortress screens, there's a lot of empty space. For example, on the health screen, I need to scroll through the units even though they'd fit on one screen if all the space was used. There's also horizontal scrolling for some reason. Is there any way to fix this?

@Krazer One Christmas, my older brother and I got out the deep frier and tested deep frying the various components of turkey dinner. Most of it was rather good, although I don't think it was anything special enough to warrant the effort or risk to one's health. Tempura sushi (standard-ish sushi) probably tastes alright, if a bit rich, but I don't imagine it would be anything special.

@skovacs1 I know anything can taste decent deep fried, but deep frying sushi sounds/tastes... blasphemous.

I agree with you for the most part as I don't think it would improve upon sushi. I'm just saying that it wouldn't be disgusting, merely adequate and mildly disappointing.
From the avant-garde conveyor-belt sushi that I've had, I don't think it is something I would put in a batter and deep fry either, although if you could get the egg to stay on the sushi, the bacon and egg sushi I had would probably be alright.

@Krazer You should note that some sushi is meant to be fried such as inarizushi.

Older brother's engagement video. Recorded on iPad on a windy beach in Cuba. The video didn't turn out entirely because the iPad moved in the wind shortly after they set it down (it's a video of their legs), but to make it worse, the audio is pretty brutal. I've done what I can with some selective EQ and a few filters, but I don't think I can improve any more.

@skovacs1 but on a more serious note, I would think the only thing with wind is that it has properties similar to white noise. wind covers a pretty broad spectrum of frequencies, so it might prove difficult to even get it to a reasonable level... as a general rule, there's no substitute for getting a good recording in the first place.

@Krazer I know. I have a degree in New Media so I knew the inherent problems with what I was asked to address. I was just hoping that maybe some wicked DSP algorithm had come into being when I wasn't paying attention that could address this issue with less compromise.

:sigh. I think I'll call it and just send him two or three iterations of the cleanup for him to pick from with an explanation of the limitations of the situation.

Thankfully he tried his hand at cleanup first so he should be more able to take the bad news.
