Why can't I toggle these starred items. I have the accuracy IV unlocked for the amcar4 and had it for one game. Now its back to iron sights and I can't toggle it back. It seems pressing X in the upgrades tree makes no diffrence.

@EBongo I averaged I think 1.25 pennies per hour of entertainment out of the game.. and I am considering going back for a straight up hard as can be run through the main quest lines again.
@EBongo People will tell you the breton is the best race because of their magic resist (And I have to say I do like it)
But honestly any race can do anything in that game, the initial stats and/or special powers are just neat little nudges but no lasting impact on the game.

Once you start to lose your footing (research points, high ground positions, etc.) it seems to lead to a slow and painful death. @agent86 So let's say... purely hypothetical here... that I murdered the first NPC I saw in the game, found he couldn't actually be killed, and that he has a seemingly kill on sightish opinion of me at this point. Is that a correctable situation? Even after waiting days he seems to be camping out in a quest NPCs house.

VPSes are not intended for durable storage like that: even the cadillac VPS plans only usually come with < 200GB storage. Someone should just get an S3 bucket or similar

Yeah. VPSes are priced on RAM/CPU generally, and are marketed towards web uses, so the more competitively priced plans are around low-end requirements for a basic web/database setup, which is 512 MB or less

I was playing a game of Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion and all of a sudden it was declared that I won via a military victory. However I haven't finished conquering the other guy's planets yet and I was given the option to keep playing.

@EBongo What James said is generally true. This guy's Rolof or whoever, right? The guy who helps you escape? I did the same thing, just walk up with your weapon out, and then sheathe it. He'll say something along the lines of "had enough, eh?" and then wander away as if you didn't try to slice his arms off.
also, in general, try to avoid going on a murderous rampage on friendlies. there are plenty of non-friendlies to get murdery on in the game, and bounties are expensive, and some people can be killed who you might want around later.
except for that guy outside the talos shrine in whiterun. good lord. I did everyone a favor and murdered him in his sleep.
Dragons such as Blue Fire, Frostfire, and Sandstorm have opposing elements. When I choose a fire dragon, cold gets greyed out. When I choose an air dragon, earth gets greyed out. So how do I breed these types of opposing element hybrids?
@agent86 @James Ah.. well I'll have to give that a try. Currently he just camps out in this room, not facing the door. I can walk in and talk to nearby folks, but if he see me or if I talk to him he says "There you are!" and everyone in town attacks me. I normally don't have my weapon drawn at that point, so I'll have to try that out.
@EBongo yeah. take your weapon out, then put it away and he should talk to you. that in particular is not very intuitive (I think it's probably in the manual and it's a loading screen tip)
there's a lot of things in Skyrim that are design decisions they made 2 or more games ago that aren't really obvious if you haven't logged hours in those games.
that guy you can pummel on in the tutorial area, and he'll just be mildly upset, but as soon as you leave the first area, attacking him is considered a Bad Thing
Indeed. My main impulse in this game is to sneak, pickpocket, and steal anything not nailed down. However, sometimes it is not clear what is stealing and what isn't. I took a ton of iron and steel bars from this blacksmith and he didn't blink an eye.
@EBongo if the text is red and says "steal" - you're stealing
you can crouch (with CTRL) and if the hud shows a line instead of an eye icon, you're "hidden" and you can take items on the ground without any sort of penalty
Yeah I was enjoying leveling my one-handed on his face, but then we left the area and apparently "pickpocketing" him at that point to steal his bow was a bad thing. Hypothetically speaking.
if you're hidden, you can also lockpick "owned" things, and attempt to pickpocket, although you can still get busted if you try to take something you don't have the skill to steal without them noticing
@agent86 So if I were to, lets say, steal items out of someone's house - are those items somehow flagged as stolen? If long later I get pinched, lets say, for a different crime - will that get tagged on my rap sheet?
@EBongo yeah, if you steal stuff, it's marked as stolen. you can't sell them to merchants except for "fences" (which are available as part of the thief guild). getting busted with stolen items won't make your crime worse, but if you elect to serve time, they'll remove all stolen items from your inventory as part of your penalty
imho, if you think you're likely to get busted, quicksave, and if you get busted, load
the UESP is a pretty authoritative reference for all things Elder Scrolls, so if you're like "how do I make X" or "what should I do in this quest?" they've got the info

SINS OF A SOLAR EMPIRE is a better game that I often confuse for it. it's kind of hard to describe... kind of like homeworld, a sort of space RTS that is more about large-scale combat

I've completed the Thieves Guild main questline (Darkness Returns) and chosen my special power (Shadowcloak of Nocturnal). It says completed in my quest log.
I also completed the extra jobs in each city you can give Thieves guild influence to (Markarth, Whiterun, Windhelm, and Solitude) and done...
