@bwarner without something like this (where questions are obviously good or bad) I can't use my moderator close vote. I read almost all the ITGs, but I can't do anything about them since it's subjective. By creating objective criteria, I can use my close powers on them.

on top of that, there are userscript tools already in place for leaving pro forma comments, so I can leverage that to redirect askers if they do the wrong thing.

so the amount of work involved is quite a bit less with a formal, codified policy

and it's not just me - others can more easily participate and sort the questions themselves.

@Foxtrot The number one reason I don't explain my downvotes: They're not for you, they're for me and the community at large. If I wanted to communicate with you I'd leave a comment. When I want to communicate to the community as a whole that a particular post is of low value, or lower value than I think it's current score indicates, I downvote. The two are unrelated actions.

@RavenDreamer I contacted EA before you could not change the Origin ID name you first pick to ask why? Basically the reply I got from EA was they set up the database wrong.
