Q: Remote Checkers game - Low bandwidth

@RavenDreamer Depends on what you're looking for. All of them are good, but mechanically the first has not aged all that well and you'll find yourself wonky for playing it after the latter ones, for example.

I think the first one's story is well worth the effort to play through it, though. Sometimes I almost want to play it through again.

Note that I'm also talking only from the perspective of the originals - I have not played any of the remakes.

@RavenDreamer gah, disgaea. 2 was pretty decent, but be warned - these are grindy, grindy grindfests. the level cap is crazy, and getting even one character (of a good dozen or so you can summon at once) to "max stats" could take dozens of hours.

If you want max stats, "dozens" is a very low estimate.

@agent86 Which could be a good thing if it's the only game you have for the console, and want to get a lot of game play hours out of it.

I played disgaea 1, 2, and la pucelle tactics to completion, although by the end of those games I was pretty well done with that formula

From the perspective of just clearing the game, though, it's not actually a big sink, thankfully.

RfW is when you have two lanes, and the goal is to get the wool from your lane. CtW is when the map is divided into sides, one for each team, and the goal is to get the wool from the opposing players side.
