@FallenAngelEyes I think it's a problem of marketing, if people see themselves as Chess or Go or Players, and not Board & Cardgame players then you'll have a problem attracting people. The other thing that dooms B&CG for some games is the lack of tools specific to the games, it's annoying to ask & answer Chess & Go question if you don't even have any tools to draw board positions on the site.

@badp The problem is that BCG will never draw in a significant group of MTG players, or chess players or poker players or Go players, because they aren't interested in the all-encompassing site. And saying "they should stop wanting their own site and want this instead" is silly. You don't draw interest in your site by telling people what they want is wrong, you have to cater to their interests or they'll ignore you. Maybe that means none of these sites will take off.

SE 2.0 has several tools, like faving/ignoring tags, following certain tags, etc. that you can easily ignore stuff you're not interested in.

I can't get past this level in Angry Birds. All I get is one black exploding bird and two white bomber birds: I can use the black bomber to kill the left two pigs, but after that there's such a big pile of concrete on top of the other pigs that nothing I try gets through.
