Anyone knows why bike engine stops or struggles when you don't move your foot off the mick starter as soon as you start using it?
I use electric start mainly. But a few days ago I tried kick starter 1st time to know how it works. I started it successfully but I forgot to move my foot and so it was still down and engine stopped. Not sure if it was stopped but definitely something was wrong. Either it made weird sound or probably stopped.
Then my neighbor noticed me doing this. He told me you have to let the kick starter come back to its default position as soon as you start it
Only then I managed to start it properly
@RoryAlsop I'm very afraid of cows and dogs coming in front out of nowhere. It's so common here. Dogs scare me most because I fear once I stop, they'll bite me.

@Vikas honestly don't know - guessing it's part of the kick start engagement mechanism - you have to let it come back to the start position to allow it to fully disengage ready for next kick, but didn't know it would struggle if you kept it down.
Trying to remember the last time I had a bike with a kick start - don't recall it doing that, but I think default was to always let the lever return to the start position

@RoryAlsop yeah. I will try to find some resource how kick starter works. That will probably answer
