Q: Is there a detachable tow bar available for the BMW 335D M Sport Touring (F31/2016) that does not need a bumper cut

Jason MorganI have a lease BMW 335D M Sport Touring (F31/2016) and I am not permitted to alter it without reparing any changes. So, if I fit a tow bar I have to remove it at the end of the lease. I've asked various dealers and I get conflicting answers. Having to replace the bumper would be a costly extra. ...

I closed this as a shopping question ... do you disagree with me?

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 looks like shopping to me

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Any idea what the H2 / I3 / D3 / blah blah in these rockers mean? (Not my car.) guy took him off his car and doesn't know what order they were in.
It's an LS2.

11:26 PM
@3Dave - I've not looked at the underside of them, but on the LS2 I don't think it matters ... I don't think there is any difference between the intake and exhaust rockers, unlike the LS3 & LS7 rockers (and variants based on these engines). There is such a thing as sympathetic wear patterns, though, which I'm pretty sure you are completely aware of.

Yeah. I was hoping the code indicated the position.

Personally I think I'd be more worried about the rocker tips. The one marked H2 seems to have some serious wear on it ... at least a lot more then I'd be comfortable with. The pushrod cups don't look much better.
@3Dave - How do the valve tips look?

No idea. A guy PM'd me on FaceBook (blech) asking. Apparently the fact that I can do brakes on a Corvette qualifies me to provide engine repair advice.
Like, got a Solstice? I totally got that one down. :D
I won't be touching the Corvette motor until the extended warranty expires. I'd love to do a cam, maybe a procharger, but... no.

Why does someone flipping tear stuff apart they have no clue about?

430hp is enough for me for the foreseeable future.

11:31 PM
Yah, I hope my L98 I built will put out that much :o)

Well, we all start somewhere. :) I broke a 300ZX TT. This taught me that some steps in the FSM were not optional.

I'd be happy with it, lol

Right?
There's a point where it just becomes bragging rights.
I can't even floor it in first.

Cannot disagree with that
You doing okay?
Oh, and my daughter's car is a G37x
She let me drive it the other day. It's a really nice ride.
I was looking at a Volvo V60 Cross Country for the wife ... The one I found seemed to have all the bells and whistles, was a decent price (2017 @ $24k w/ 27k miles). It's a "certified" one, which gives a 60 month/unlimited mileage warranty on it (from origination date). Her reception of it didn't seem very warm.

Ah. AWD, right?

11:35 PM
yes

(wrt G37)

on both, lol
G37 "x"
lol

Well, if the wife doesn't like it... it's DOA.

ha. Yeah. I got it.

11:36 PM
It had all the bells/whistles she's looking for ... just wasn't something she'd been looking at directly. She loves Volvos, though ... not sure why she balked at it.
She likes the XC90 ... even the XC40
(at least I think it's an XC40, lol)
Anyways, headed downstairs. Hope you have a great evening. Text me if you need me.

Thanks! Cheers.
