My car passed it's MOT (uk roadworthiness test) with no faults at the weekend :) Always a bit of a worrying time with a 15 year old car (especially the emissions tests, because I can't pre-check that myself)

I always had the same worries, but now days it seems like they don't measure all the values that they did before.

Before they measured HC, Lambda and CO. Now it's only CO.

(on older cars)

Previously I always had high HC, so I had to add some ethanol to the tank.

not nice on fuel lines etc

Interesting - I thought they'd got stricter when they brought the new rules in a couple of years ago.
