hi, would it be appropriate to ask the mechanics stack exchange a brush-cutter motor question? Or is that off-topic?

@Stacey If it's related to the motor, go for it.
What's the question? We might be able to answer or point you in the right direction.
(This isn't StackOverflow. We don't kill people for missing adjectives.)

My husband just bought a brushcutter and it uses petrol with oil added. The Manual says to empty and clean the fuel tank if it's not going to be used for "some time". Is there a ballpark timeframe for some time? Days/Weeks/Months/etc. and what will happen if it isn't emptied and cleaned?

@Stacey I'd say that was fine - just make sure it's not too opinion based.

Gotta love Dallas.

Spent all that money and still can’t park. 😉
@Stacey for the purposes of rules of thumb, I'd say that if the motor will sit for plural months, just run it out of fuel the last time that you use it.
That way the petrol won’t turn to varnish and gum things up

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Here's a fun one. A guy on the solstice forum drove his car home, parked it overnight and found that, in the morning, it wouldn't turn over. Being not particularly knowledgeable about cars, and after failing to jump start it, he had it towed to a local shop that he trusts. They said that the engine is seized.
That makes exactly zero sense.

Unless it’s seized now but hadn’t seized when it arrived. “We let all the oil out, started it and then it stopped working...”.
