The channel is great. The guy makes a lot of really neat stuff, shows his failures and learning process, etc. I'm a fan.

mechanics.stackexchange.com/q/68957/12030 - True story - when I was a kid, my dad got rid of a car because he couldn't get a new starter to line up properly. He tried 3 different starters, a shim kit and some other "persuasion" and was finally so pissed that he had one of his friends haul it off.

Granted, the car was bought for $500 a few years earlier, and it was really on it's last legs (beat up 70's sedan, this happened in the... early 90s?).

This was different that the OPs reasoning. This was, I'm so pissed I'm going to light this car on fire if it sits here for another hour, lol.

@JPhi1618 - Not these days ... If you're talking about the "how-to" articles I was writing, I had stopped a while back ... we had written all of the how-to articles they wanted, then they picked a few of us to continue writing "listicals" (ie: Top 10 reasons to buy a Corvette - a "list article"). I didn't like them, because the lists they wanted me to write to had already been written a dozen times. What was I going to add?
