3:49 PM
Is anybody in there?

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 you rang?
:D

4:11 PM
@motosubatsu - How's it going?
I'm in the process of figuring out the injectors I have aren't big enough for the engine I've built.
I believe the injectors I have are 24lb/hr, while I'm most likely going to need some which are 32-34lb/hr ... argh.
Injectors aren't cheap, but I guess if I'm going to need some which will cut the mustard, you know the deal.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 yeah not bad.. over half way through the week - woot!
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 ouch.. that's quite a shortfall

I believe I can get the engine running on the stock injectors, which will get it running. To make the engine really function, though, I'm going to have to upgrade. I'm also going to need to get a tune on the engine as well. As far as that goes, I may see about just buying the equipment to burn EPROMs and do it myself. I'm not doing anything which is cray-cray with the engine, so I will bet there's already tunes available on the Interwebz I can just burn onto a chip.
The stock 350 puts out 240hp at the crank. I'm expecting about 380-400chp ... so, yah, the stock injectors aren't going to cut it at WOT.

yeah.. I'd have thought you should be able to get it up and running, just with a fairly restricted tune
while it's a PITA you might be better off just biting the bullet and getting the injectors now
it'll save you a load of time and hassle in the long run

Nothing past much of an idle on the tune which is in it (I have no clue what the tune is).

what ECU is there currently?

4:20 PM
stock
As far as I know.
I haven't dug that deep.
;)
I'd love to get a Holley computer for it ... but cannot afford that kind of money.

ecu price range goes from "ouch" to "how f##king much?!"
and most cheaper ones I've encountered are only good for 4 cyl

@motosubatsu - Holley just came out with the Terminator X, which runs about a grand with wiring harness. The problem is, it's only for LSx engines.
Their regular EFI ECU/Harnesses run a little over $2k ... getting into the lower end of the "HFM" category.
Haltech run about the same.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 yeah sounds about right

The really good thing about these types of aftermarket ECU's is, the tuning software comes with them. You don't have to buy license credits from HPTuners to bust into your GM (or other) ECUs.
And mind you, I'm not a tuner. I'd have to take it somewhere to get it done. However, whenever you tune a car, you have to pay for the license credits and most tuners who do GM vehicles are using HPTuners software to make it happen ...
Again, though, I think I can find a tune repository out there which will match my build without too much of an issue.
I'm sure burning EPROMs would be a LOT cheaper than taking it to a tuner.

cheaper - certainly, not being FI you'll probably stand a good chance of getting a tune that's there or thereabouts as well

4:35 PM
@motosubatsu - That's what I'm hoping for ... realistically I just need it to run decently. Doesn't have to be perfect. I just don't want it to go into ThermoNuclearMeltdown before I'm able to sell it ;-)
@motosubatsu - I just remembered ... I did find a place online which will put a tune on an EPROM for me for about $165 (IIRC). They state in their writeup on the Interwebz that their tunes will pass emissions. If that's true, I might need to get fitted for my Armani suit so I can walk the French Super Model scene.
However, they do seem legit.
I do need to upgrade the injectors, though ... I'll have to see what's out there.

5:05 PM
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 sounds totally legit ;)

@motosubatsu - Yah, should be okay. They've been around for a while, so believe they won't do me wrong.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 if they are reasonably established that's definitely reassuring

@motosubatsu - I can get a set of used LS1/LS6 42# injectors (which translates to 36# for my application) for $75 ... that sounds like a pretty good deal. Great fun as long as they work, lol.
We'll see ... off to a meeting

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 sounds like a cheap and cheerful way of getting what you need!

5:57 PM
@motosubatsu - You could say that ;-)
Getting ready to head home for the day ... hope you all are doing wonderfully :o)

3 hours later…
8:36 PM
Yeah, home for the day :o)
