@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 I love the simplicity of his videos. They're quite ASMR

Q: Exhaust backfire on reductions/engine braking

IanCI've recently acquired a 2001 Corsa Milenium (a Brazillian saloon version of the Opel Corsa B, with a GM 8V 1.0 MPFI engine). It has a performance air filter (which I plan on replacing with the original filter soon) and a performance exhaust. I noticed on reductions, when I'm using engine braking...

I guess it took me a while to ask my first question here, been frequenting the chat for a while already :p

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Well, I finally replaced the waterpump and thermostat on the Urban Assault Vehicle. I went ahead and put some dye in while I was at it, and found a leak on the front, lower heater hose connector at the water pump.
cheap part, fortunately. Of course, Amazon didn't include the gaskets with my water pump. Losers.

@3Dave - The waterpump probably isn't too hard of a job. Hopefully you replaced the coolant while you were at it ... with fresh Dexcool ;-)

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Yep; flushed, replaced with two jugs of dexcool and two of water.
the pump wasn't hard to do; just a little time consuming since half of my sockets have disappeared. Time to order another set.

@3Dave - But none of those should be 10mm ...:o)

All 6 bolts holding the pump to the block are 10mm.

@3Dave - Well, there you go ...

Tomorrow, I get to replace the HPFP on the GXP, replace some strut studs, and get a friend of mine to weld the intercooler back together.
At least the G35 is working.
(as I hear an explosion coming from the driveway...)
Time to mow the lawn. Cheers.

10:21 PM
@3Dave - Have bunches of fun with that ... I need to run our mower out of gas so it doesn't clog the carb.
