Q: Rollout of new network site themes

Joe FriendAs promised (albeit delayed), we are posting site themes for our first group of network sites for comment. The goal here is to allow the community in general and users of these sites specifically to see how the new theming will be applied to these sites. Again, we acknowledge that this is a pai...

(In case it hasn't been shared yet)

12:34 PM
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 looks like I'm not the only one with AC problems to deal with ;)

@Zaid Hi, welcome back!

@Myself Hey there
thanks
What's new?

@Zaid not too much: The family is well, work is as usual, holiday was nice.
How about you? How is your family?

I'm good, as is the family. I split my holiday into two halves this year.. the second half is next month
I had a very unexpected failure over a week ago... the AC blower on the LR3 just stopped working. Thankfully, getting to it doesn't require ripping out the dashboard

12:52 PM
@Zaid will you be abroad?

I replaced the blower with a new unit and threw in a new blower motor resistor as well. Went to crank the engine and click-click-click the battery died

@Zaid From one thing to another, eh?

Yeah, Murphy's Law in full swing
@Myself I'll probably visit India

@Zaid Yesterday I found out that my wifes car is suddenly eating oil..

@Myself All of a sudden?

1:03 PM
@Zaid All of a sudden, but I have to admit that in recent times I neglected maintenance. Yesterday I found out that there is a drop of pressure while driving around curves..

How low did the oil level go?

I put in a litre of oil and the level is still below the dipstick
I do not think that the engine got damaged, that was the first time that we saw the oil light. And the car is not in heavy use.

2 hours later…
2:50 PM
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 @Ceshion First autocross in the GXP yesterday. We did a mirror course - two courses next to each other, mirror images, with a "drag race" start (mostly because the club president has a Viper, I think.) fun fact: I kept up with a C5 Z06 during the drag race section, which was about 1/8th of a mile. And his was an automatic.
Got my butt kicked through the rest of the course though.
@Myself Burning, or leaking / blowing out the exhaust?
My wife's high-mileage (160k) '07 Escalade is seeping some oil around the oil pan gasket and rear main seal. It's about a quart every three months. I'm not super-worried about it.

3:20 PM
@3Dave I don't know yet. I am not aware of an leak, but it was already dark when I realized the mess. I am also not aware of blue smoke coming from the exhaust.

1 hour later…
4:26 PM
@Zaid - Welcome back ... don't hold your breath on this. They've been promising and promising since forever it would seem ... then when they do, it's going to be quite bland.
@Zaid - I'm hoping it's solved. Only time will tell! :o)
@3Dave - As long as you keep up with the oil, it shouldn't be an issue. My truck does the same thing, though is leaking in different locations. I've not worried too much about it, but now that I have the Civic up and running, I might think about taking the engine out to regasket everything.
Although, I do have some other projects I need to get rid of first ... namely one stubborn Subie which is still in the garage. I built an exhaust hanger for it the other day. It is probably more elaborate than it needs to be, but it'll work for what I need it to do. I WISH I had a lift.

3 hours later…
7:47 PM
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 One day I will have a lift. That's one thing I probably won't try and build myself.

1 hour later…
9:11 PM
@3Dave - I have a garage, but it's not big enough to support a lift.

9:32 PM
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 mine isn’t, either. Need to build a new one. Some day. We have enough space.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 ProTip: don’t draw on John Carmack’s whiteboard with a permanent marker.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 You could do a couple of hoists suspended from the rafters. :)
Because 2x12s are totally sufficient to support a 5000lb truck.

10:04 PM
@3Dave - That's the problem ... the rafters are too close to the ground.
I think the ceiling is between 9-10' ... I would think it would need to be somewhere around 13-14' to successfully have a lift in it.

10:20 PM
Can you rent a jack hammer?
Recruiter called back. Apparently messing up a whiteboard does not eliminate one from further consideration. Now it goes before an “engineering review board” next week.
but, honestly, the local office is removed from the FB home office that I’m not sure how much that matters. Now I have to decide if I really want it.
(Zero’th world problems.)

10:50 PM
@3Dave - As in "thee" FB?

11:07 PM
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 yes. They own Misspelled occcuuulllluuuussss

@3Dave - So you might be working for Fart Butt ... awesome
Can we all get free logins?
;-)
