6:24 AM
Okay, I just saw @Ceshion and @Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 talking about overheating and compression tests. Is "our" car okay?
And it's, like, late. Cheers. Sorry if your phone pinged.
Never mind. I can read. Really. Maybe I'll go answer a question for once. I wonder if anyone else has a Solstice or tried to put the wrong engine in a G35 or 350Z...

3 hours later…
9:55 AM
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 I agree, definitely a shopping question
I also agree with your opinion in the comments, but then I'm even wary of 'keyless entry' type systems - I'd rather have a bit of specially-shaped metal!
If others disagree, please say and I'll reopen it...

10:12 AM
Goodmorning
Been feeling depressed ever since :'(
@NickC I totally agree that this is a shopping question, however I think that reopening would be better so we could inform the OP of the benefits/dangers. So basically direct the question to a more informative way than shopping. Up to you tho!

1 hour later…
11:40 AM
@Paramone ouch!

12:05 PM
@Paramone :(

1:04 PM
@DavidLively "Our" car is doing just fine, although it's been wandering a little with winter tires just on the back, but the fronts aren't in yet
I figure it's just a steering geometry issue given the profile is higher and the width is lower

1:26 PM
@DavidLively - Only you, Dave, only you.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 good to see you! how's it going today?

1:42 PM
@Ceshion - Good to be seen :o) I'm doing well. Worked out this morning. I'm back on days starting Thursday, so I tried to make sure I got up early enough today. I have to get up at 0415 on Thursday, so need to adjust my body clock a little bit.
How are you doing?

Oh lord, that is too early to live honestly

Nah, it's what I've been used to for the past umpteen years.
I'd rather be getting up early in the morning ... but each to their own. I know some people don't like getting up early.
@Paramone - Man, that hurts to look at.

I'm doing well though, I've found myself in a really good situation with my new roommates (in which I'm now dating the spouse of the one I met first ^u^) and finally getting meds fine-tuned so I'm actually being effective consistently at work, getting out and living life and I'm happy c: and over the weekend I went with the house family to Ikea and we got an entertainment center we did a nice build with, let me see if I can find the pictures

0415 is too early. I’m up and partly functional at 0515. That’s all I’ve got. The wife has told me before “any earlier is too early for you.” I can take direction. ;-)

@Ceshion - That's awesome :o)

1:49 PM

Hooray for big tv!

the light gets splotchy in pictures, in person it's a lot more of a consistent glow

@BobCross - My wife doesn't necessarily like me being up that early, either, but in the DC area, if I leave 15-20 later, it takes me an additional 15-20 to get to work (normal 45 min commute takes 60-65 mins), then parking sux as well.

Oh I lived the DC commute. That’s one of the reasons I live in RI

I mean I struggle to wake up at 0600, I am 100% not a morning person

1:51 PM
@Ceshion - Believe me, I get it, lol.

At work by 0700, home by 1600 and video games!

@BobCross - I have a 12 hour workday ... I don't get home until after 7pm :o) Cannot complain, though, it's what I signed up for (eyes wide open).

You can complain. Complaining is always authorized for the hard workers. Slackers can hush
A “complaining” sailor is a happy sailor.
I need to get my head on straight again. Too much work plus I’d like to do car things. Brain has been mush though

2:33 PM
@BobCross - I really need to do car things. I've got about three projects which need to get rolling, yet I cannot seem to get my son's Subie out of the garage.

Two things I’d like to do: take car of a paint spot near my gas cap and check my OBD for backed out pins
Both of those require your head to be in the game. Precision work is not a good time for being a stressball

3:09 PM
@Ceshion I need to take a hard look at my home office. It’s technically the one room that I don’t have to negotiate with the historical commission that runs the rest of the house. Unfortunately, my sense of style is clearly... lacking.
Your pictures show a lot more character than my room full of many shelves of all the stuff. Look, I have lots of books! 🙄

3:25 PM
@BobCross it helps to have three people working together to figure out the decor

3:37 PM
I’m sure. I need to give someone veto powers.
Fundamentally, I need to put up more shelves that are NOT in my office. Move some stuff out!

4:34 PM
@BobCross - Make it a MAN CAVE!!! Woot!

It’s already a man cave. That’s the problem. I want a room that the lady doesn’t look at and go ugh. That sort of response doesn’t facilitate the long term strategy....

4:52 PM
@BobCross - Kinda like the response I get from the spouse when she goes out to the garage ... I really need a bigger garage ... maybe even two garages: one attached (wife's domain) and one detached (MAN CAVE DOMAIN!! WooT!)
Of course, the Man Cave Domain would have space for several projects and at least one car lift. At least. Need some overhead clearance. Most of all, I need a much fatter wallet.

5:05 PM
I do fantasize about more garage space. It’s totally impossible in our current house and we won’t be new housing with kids in college. And it would be silly.
In imaginary world, I think “I should buy the house across the street and then I would have two garages!”

@BobCross - LOL! There is an older gentleman up the street from me. He has a garage he works out of (three stall on about 1/2 acre of land). I think he works on cars just for something to do. I've often had fantasies about asking him to sell me the garage, but then I think two things would stop me: cost & him saying "no".

2 hours later…
6:57 PM
The other idea is to buy the house next door, knock it down and then I would have room for a 3 car garage!

7:26 PM
@BobCross - Three? Is that all? Meh.

8:19 PM
I have three at my house now. What I don't have is three cars for me
I have a softball for the Subaru heads:
0
Q: How do I disconnect my OBD port from my lower dashboard?

Bob CrossI am going to be checking my OBD port on my 2004 Subaru WRX for loose pins. The problem is that access to my OBD is uncomfortable at best (it's below knee level and pointed down). Even if I can successfully diagnose bad pins (a relatively simple procedure), replacing or reseating the pins will be...

@BobCross - Diagonal cutters?

I know that the procedure is straightforward but this question does not have answers that show up well in googling. Thus, that makes it a prime target!
Closest fit is actually from a Mazda site. Mazda != Subaru

I've seen the question a lot, though
