Nice.
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 So, I now have four matching functional brakes. Getting the new hard line snaked in around the leaf spring and transmission was a PITA.
Since my 20-year-old Mityvac broke and I didn't have a helper, I "made" a one-man bleeder out of an old Speed Bleeder valve that was mysteriously hanging out in my toolbox and some clear tubing. It worked great. Having eight different bleeders is a bit of a pain, but it works now.
Also went ahead and installed that OEM nav head unit. Clearing the anti-theft lock took all of about 10 seconds with the tech 2. It's not the greatest head unit, and the maps are a decade out of date, but it's better than what I had before. And it happily shows the Corvette logo when you start the car. :)

4:33 PM
@3Dave - Can you update the maps?

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 The C6 group says no. That strikes me as odd. I'll look into it.
They're on a DVD.

@3Dave - The reason why I don't like "built in" navigation. Seems you always run into the issue somewhere down the road. I'll stick to my Samsung Galaxy which is never out of date for maps ;)
Glad your brakes are functioning once again ;)

I use my phone, anyway. I would've got a head unit with car play or something, but this was basically free.
Me, too. Being able to stop is nice.
Even with El Cheapo pads, those things are nuts.

I have a cheap power bleeder I purchased from Harbor Freight ... works great. I even used it to bleed a VERY stubborn clutch master/slave circuit.
I sat on the clutch circuit in my son's Civic for over two hours trying to get it to bleed (without the power bleeder) ... next day I came back with it. Took me about 10 minutes to set everything up (including the air compressor) and about 2 minutes to actually get it bled.

Nice.
That would've saved me some time. Next time I might pick one up.

4:42 PM
They are definitely cheap plastic stuff ... but they work, lol.
You need a compressor. It uses the venturi principle to get vacuum pulled on it.

You know, I've got a venturi vacuum pump.

5:35 PM
@3Dave - Well, if you've got a vacuum pump, you could build your own bleeder.

5:51 PM
@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Yeah, but it's really for composites work. It'd make more sense to get a cheap pressure bleeder, probably.
It's not like I have to bleed brakes that often, anyway. :)

@3Dave - Neither do I, but it sure comes in handy when you need one ... especially when you're by yourself, lol!

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Yeah, I can imagine. My neighbor has a Motive bleeder he said I could borrow, but he was conveniently out of town when I needed it. I can't imagine that it would have generated a better result than the tubing + speed bleeder (the pedal is rock solid), but it certainly would've been faster.

6:39 PM
@3Dave - The outcome would most likely not have been different. It does speed things up, especially if you don't have help. Gravity bleeding really kinda sux.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 Gravity bleeding is a lengthy process. But, at least it works. Gotta love physics.
My wife, who can't drive a stick, helped last time. I told her to hit the center pedal. She looked down and said "There are four pedals. There's no center pedal." I said "The one on the left is the dead pedal. It's a foot rest." "Which one should I hit?" "The brake pedal." "Which one is that?"
At which point I started thinking that gravity bleeding might not be such a bad idea.
I've offered to teach her to drive a stick multiple times. No dice.
