Hello folks, checking in after a looong hiatus

Hello @Zaid and @BobCross! Chat has been a little quiet lately, maybe it's just people still getting their schedule sorted for this year, we are still in January, who knows. On the site itself, I haven't noticed less questions or answers

So, I was postponing some bodywork on the expectancy that I'd get confident enough on my skills on the welding machine, but today I had to take the hard decision of letting those repairs go to other hands. There's something that can't wait much. The rust on the back of my roof is deeper than I thought, it has a tiny hole on the sheet already, so it'll infiltrate water if I leave it be

It will also require removing the rear window, so if I'm already removing it I should also fix the metal that supports the window, any rust there. Too much work for me to try myself right now with a small time frame. I'll stop the car at the shop next week and do that and the rust on the wall behind the battery that is a little big as well. Maybe even the rocker panel that I was planning on doing myself, since the car will be stopped anyways

Guess there will be other opportunities for me to try some bodywork fixes in the future, with less of a urgency than right now

BTW, I was impressed today, that bodyworker does everything with Oxy/Ace torch! I know old timers sometimes prefer those, and that it requires some good skill to get a good weld, specially in bodywork where heat control is an issue
