@Myself Thank you man! :D

@3Dave we have barristers and solicitors and lawyers, and other names. I mean who wants English to only have one word for one thing, hey?

@RoryAlsop Ah, but I think barristers and solicitors do different things? but both are a sub-type of lawyer?

@NickC you with your facts... :-)
(yeah, you are right)

@Ceshion IMHO, if you're writing an email, it would be to one person (i.e. the person who reads it), so I think it'd be more "Dear Sir/Madam" or similar, assuming you don't know the name of the person you're emailing
Also, I suspect a business type email wouldn't actually go to a Police Officer as such, most places now business/admin type stuff is dealt with by civilian contractors
as most Police forces are so short-funded that they need all the trained officers to be doing policing
@RoryAlsop Just be glad I'm not a lawyer, that would have been chargable advice ;-)

@NickC a good default is always “to whom it may concern...”

@BobCross @3Dave mentioned that earlier in the discussion...

Hey guys

thank you all ^--^
@3Dave If you're well-educated in english, it's easy to take knowing the right words to use for granite.
Hi @DavidWinslow!
What's up?

Not much. just reading back i guess i havent visited here in two years
i got a crazy job with lots of hours

11:33 PM
I feel for you, I've been buried by life for
it feels like a month or two but I honestly don't know

@Ceshion that’s hilarious.
@Ceshion (granite, not being buried.)
Dear Officers, thanks for your help last week. You save the life of my beloved, yet previously deceased, kitten, Mr. Mittens.
I apologize for the aroma and lack of flexibility.
In closing, please keep up the good work. And seek training in the proper use of vise grips.
Yours,
random citizen.
Saved. Dammit.
@NickC for example.
Honestly the capitalization looks a little off there. What do I know - I’m a high school dropout and an EE. Neither qualifies me to offer advice in this area.
