@Ceshion Yes, but most can be converted from ELS (only locks when a ball rolls into a latch mechanism due to deceleration) to ALS (you jerk it hard, it locks.) It's how you should install baby seats. [perhaps not you, but in general.] So, if I wasn't clear, you move the seat back, do the "jerk-lock", and then while holding the belt locked, move the seat forward to take up the slack.
It make take a few tries to find the sweet spot between keeping the latch held locked, and being totally uncomfortably tight while still reahing the pedals. Ghetto technique for certain, but it works - and it's free. When it's feels too tight it's just right. And check out SABELT and other providers - there are systems that allow you to run both belt systems at once, albiet with some sloppy stuff hanging around when you are using the OEM retractable system.
A 2" wide belt system is probably ideal. Wider becomes a serious hassle unless you are spending time on a racetrack. Also keep in mind there will be no way to argue a ticket of any kind if/when you get pulled over. Instant girl-racer = instant ticket(s). You have to prove the DOT compliance as well sometimes, so make sure you get a "street" system with DOT cert tag label. Ask me how I know...
I meant "Schroth", not Sabelt. I have Sabelt in my race car, Schroth in the Merkur XR4ti. schrothracing.com/technology

So I fitted the new hose to the forester today - and it promptly overheated again as soon as it got up to temperature... This time it looked like the steam was coming from further back though, almost under the intake manifold (though that might be an illusion of course, source of steam is not always source of leak...)
And being winter, by the time it had cooled down it was too dark to investigate further...

@NickC - Where there's smoke, there's fire.

@Pᴀᴜʟsᴛᴇʀ2 that's my worry! Are there any pipes under there that could be a source? It's all so tightly packed in that I couldn't see exactly where it was coming from...

@NickC - No doubt. You know there's a leak, now where the heck is it at!! :o)

Today is TOO FUN! (not)

Sigh. The undying computer that I built from spare parts years ago is finally gasping its last. I shouldn’t feel bad about a computer that has been in almost continuous use for ten years...
Of course, now I need to buy a new motherboard, memory and processor for my main computer. Then I can rebuild the Frankenstein computer once again!

@BobCross Sweeet!

Oh yeah because I’m rolling in money like Scrooge McDuck. I totally needed to do some spending right around Xmas....

10:22 PM
Merry Christmas to you?
;-)

10:51 PM
Not if anyone else is going to have any Xmas at all. I'm thinking I get a whole big bag of nothing much so that I don't have to hand out boxes of coal....
