@barlop I think technicality doesn't matter if your goal is clear communication. There are all sorts of things around, some of them you call molecules, some of them lattices and crystals, some of them polymers etc. Except in a few cases these terms aren't precisely defined and nobody cares what exactly the overlap between these terms is. But if you talk about a molecule versus a polymer I will imagine vastly different things and that's pretty valuable information for just a few syllables.
