2:35 PM
Stupid internet
OK, now I'm back back

2:49 PM
I wanna study Clayden again
Get back online

3:00 PM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ please help

I viewed it
Didn't read it yet

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ it would be great if you can help!

@Jasmine You wanna know if the answer is correct?

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I just want to know which will be given higher priority

@Jasmine when you replace the triple bond with the dummy atoms, what do you get?
It's not 3 C-Cs, is it?

3:12 PM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ it's 4 c-c
I have included the picture

I can't see the pictures, they're blocked in my country

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ oh
I meant 4 c-c are now formed

Where's the terminal alkyne H?

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ bonded to the terminal c
Which is bonded to newly formed C-C

OK, I'm in a hurry and confusing myself
See if this helps

Q: Which has higher priority according to Cahn-Ingold-Prelog priority rules, vinyl or secondary butyl?

confusedAccording to my textbook, vinyl has higher priority than isopropyl, because an atom which is connected by a double bond can be treated as two identical atoms (one of them is just an imaginary atom). How about vinyl and secondary butyl? Should the imaginary atom be treated as that nothing else is...

3:25 PM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ thank you!

4:23 PM
@Zhe Now that I think about it, one should never talk about the Red Army without mentioning "Hard bass" in the same sentence ;-)

4:48 PM
@Mith I hope you Poles have it easier than Boris here, ;P

5:17 PM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Welcome back :3

5:45 PM
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ Why?

2 hours later…
8:00 PM
@pentavalentcarbon I was just reading some of the psi4 source code and it came to my attention that they don't employ memory-contiguous arrays for their 2D matrix, and I wondered why not?
Wouldn't the performance suffer from that in C++? or is it only really useful to employ memory contiguity for the 4-index stuff?
