Huh. Well. The best I got at the moment is that "we tried" on the rep system. Do y'all mind throwing a quick bug report together? Just so we can track/respond better later.
So when everything is finished, is there going to be a separate stackoverflow documentation meta (to where all these questions will presumably be moved?)
@DanielM. No. Current plan is to abandon (most) of the Q&A here, move the actual docs to Stack Overflow, and then Meta Stack Overflow will be come the usual place to discuss bugs, features, etc. If/when we expand to other sites (other technical sites could potentially benefit from docs), Meta Stack Exchange would also be an option for discussions.
We might migrate things to MSO from here that are either unresolved bug reports or discussions that would benefit from a wider audience. But there's not much point in migrating early bug reports for issues that were fixed or feature requests that were implemented.
nothing happens when you submit a draft, but when one is approved all the others pending review get merged with the approved draft - if they can't be merged, the unapproved one gets auto-rejected.
if they don't touch any of the same sections (same example, remarks, syntax, etc.) it's basically a no-op - if they touch the same section, we have a little custom 3-way merge that runs.
"can't be merged" is (more or less), both change the same line or one deletes a section/example that was changed in the other
if a change is rejected because it conflicted with another approved draft, the little yellow "what happened"-box says so - and links to whatever caused it
it wouldn't surprise me if there are edgecases and bugs in all that, it's kind of complicated and, you know, status-beta
Maybe it's related to this approved proposal. The comment states "edited 1 examples, 1 deletion", but I don't see the Remarks section highlighted in red.
if I had to guess it's probably something like that, a deletion put in a "" instead of a NULL or vice versa; so the "is this section missing?" check is broken for subsequent edits
I'm trying to approve the second half of docs-beta.stackexchange.com/documentation/proposed/changes/… yet I keep getting the error, "An error has occurred during submission; please try again." I've approved the first half of the submission, not sure why the other half won't work.
Also: 1) The split editing feature feels laggy on my Firefox on Windows 7. 2) The view mode when reviewing proposed changes isn't saved and restored the next time. 3) The reputation score on the topbar is not updated yet, after some hours.
@AdamLear I agree with this. While regex has many variations and the syntax works differently across languages, the idea is the same and can be generalized. It works as its own technology.
but I visit the page today and the block is missing
I go to preview and it appears, so I tried submitting - even though it says there is no changes it passed to a proposal and now it's there, with no diff
I'm starting a pretty long trip in a couple hours - so heads up, the rest of the team (which will be around while I'm gone) is @AdamLear @JarrodDixon and @KurtisBeavers.

Try not to start any fires in the next couple weeks.
@JonasCz we're not doing anything for it one way or another at the moment. agree that we need to be more consistent, but features are taking priority at the moment
all of SO is going to support HTTPS (in 6-8 weeks... we keep getting delayed by other stuff), and we'll def have to get our links ready by then too
