@cfr @plast Sorry for this late reply. I had (or rather, still have) computer trouble, so I'm a bit handicapped. Anyways, I managed to release v2.0.3. You can download it from github.com/sasozivanovic/forest/releases/tag/v2.0.3 immediately, and CTAN will happen soon.

@plast I have included the "binaries" (read, .stys) in the release, so no compilation needed. For future reference, however, and this works for basically any package: compile (with plain TeX) the .ins file. So, for forest: tex forest.ins. This will produce all the needed .stys. (You need to compile forest-doc.ins only if you want to compile the documentation, forest-doc.tex.)

@SašoŽivanović Sorry to hear that. I should have remembered you mentioned it earlier but I didn't think. Something about a fan, I think you said.

@cfr Yeah, the fan was the tip of the iceberg. I guess all the dust in my always-on computer finally won and overheated something ... now the graphics card won't work anymore, even if I replace it. The good news is that I've now got an excuse to get myself a new computer: 32GB of RAM and 3TB of disk space + a SSD drive should make me happy ;-) But I need to use a workaround (laptop connected to a big monitor, with an SSH connection to the now headless desktop) for a week or two.
